  • has any one ever got into a police chase?

Had 2 of them on push bikes give chase down the backroads around Barbican/Chiswell Street. They gave up after about 30 seconds. It was fun while it lasted

  • Mike thats a classic, i hadn't read that!

    • rep to the po pop for shitting you up a second time
  • haha yeah cunts - when you are waiting to be booked they have the station doctor come check you over, my wrists were getting cut to shit with the solid cuffs put on extra tight by Kojack because his collegues laughed at my "calm down Kojack" comment also you have to sit with your shoulders up or it feels like your wrists are about to break ..so this doctor comes out and is like
"Is that your Condor out there?"
me "Nah thats his, listen doctor these cuffs are hurting like fuck"
doc "there supposed to, so yeah I was thinking about building a fixie - whats the cost of a decent wheel set?"
me "bout a hundred quid - listen you think we can get these cuffs loosened?"
doc "nah there fine, so do you find it hard to stop with no brakes?"
..meanwhile the custody sergeant and the officers at the desk huddled round a computer are having a look through the list of offences that we could have done.. turns out we never ran it red it had changed when we were going through so they came up with failure to stop for a police officer but they had detained us for our own safety and let us off with a warning.. when I was leaving around 7am I noticed our lights were still on so I turned mine off and said I better turn his off - the copper said "nah mate he wont need them by the time he leaves.." lol

  • When i was a yoof I used to cycle home late at night and got chased a few times (not for any crime, just for being young and out on a bike late I guess). I used to race mountain bikes then and can remember losing them after lengthy chases around the alleyways of my yoofdom. Much fun. Once was caught tho. Apparently a CID bloke was in the back of the car and insisted on the chase. Also insisted I was taken to a cop shop to have a few things explained to me ... Ended up miles away from home.

  • Crank v Brooks
    [1980] RTR 441
A Divisional Court of the Queen’s Bench Division has held that a cyclist crossing the road by foot on a ‘Zebra’ pedestrian crossing, pushing her bicycle, was a ‘foot passenger’, therefore a motorist who failed to accord precedence to her was guilty of an offence under the ‘Zebra’ Pedestrian Crossings Regulations 1971 regulation 8, and the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1967 s 23 (5) (repealed).
