  • about time he switched his skills.
    +1 to the theme tune

    +1, agree on both

  • ha. i liked that. my favourite parts were when he kissed the guns (i do that when i roll up kingsway every morning), when he went along the top of the wall switching feet cos of how tight. and when he spoke then fell off at the end. he came across like a nice fella. and i understand he has mad zkills

  • Pah, He's no Olympic Son (tm) though is he.
    ;-)

You lot are just spoilt on the IoM.

  • Very cool.

  • I remember that when he got big in MTB trials his big thing was that he was the first guy who rode a bike with a real flow, it was more street trials where the other guys that were big had the really techy stop start with lots of hopping thing going on. Was never that entertained by trials but his video sections stood out to me as really nice riding.

  • i met akrigg at a street meet in london (on his trials bike i was on my union street) and its amazing the stuff he does, proper trials skills without brakes? mind boggling

  • When do people actually realize that 'fixed tricks' is just embarrassing. Get a BMX if you want to do tricks. It's built for it and you don't look like an idiot.

    repost.

That's the point. BMXs are built for tricks. Making this a whole lot tougher, thus more enjoyable.

For me, as someone who has not got much confidence riding fixed, this is awesome and makes me want to get on it.

  • Ah, good. Another debate on whether fixed tricks are embarrassing or not. Those are usually fun.

Bollocks. tricks are for yoyo's, fact.

Actually BMX weren't build for trick at all originally, it evolved to be use for trick.

    do you even know what BMX stand for? Bicycle Motorcross;

  • I posted this on a different website and all I got from some members apart from one, was "Wow he can ride a bike" :/

I dont think they like english people..

  • I don't get the whole "tricks" scene. I view things in terms of purpose, and therefore I struggle. If its a form of art, then ok, but if its anything else (maybe entertainment?), I can only relate it to synchronized swimming.

Maybe I'm just not exposed enough,, because I see cycling as either a mood of transport, or a sporting pursuit. Tricks seem a look-at-me endeavour, to my untrained eye.

  • Chris Akrigg on fixed at last

thanks fuck. not a moment too soon for me.

  • nimby, somebody told me you had passed on over to the great beyond.

Good to see you in rude health. :)

It's a form of acrobatics, GA2G. Some people are naturally good at/keen on acrobatics, and just as people walk on tightropes etc., some do difficult tricks on bikes. It's just fun.

  • I think I get it Oliver, but with 2 left feet (figuratively speaking), I just don't relate to such enhanced levels of coordination. Excellent ability though.

    seriously?

rumours of my demise have been greatly exaggerated

the thing is oliver that video is the answer to the debate ....

  • Agreed^ It addresses all the usual criticisms people have of the freestyle scene

Ah, that's what YOU think, but I'm sure we can dig out some people who DISAGREE PASSIONATELY. ;)

  • ^

It would probably be me who disagrees passionately with myself.

  • Chris Akrigg is an amazing rider, but there are a few other people that aren't so bad either ;)
