It's pretty hot here so my neighbours got their dog shaved.

That's awesome.

I made the mistake of shaving my dog once. The groomer I took her to to sort it out told me not to do it again. The hair actually helps dissipate the heat too.

took #hellohazeldog to the beach - she loved it, not the freezing cold water though
@kl another schanzuzer walk on Sunday

That's a happy Schnauzer, our puppy just had his first 'dip', fell in a canal after seeing moorhens. I had to unstrap the baby off my chest before I could scoop him out!
Started stripping his coat today, ran out of time...

We've been getting Errol accustomed to his new bike basket. We've worked our way up to 1hr and he seems fine.

Oddly, I'm in Iraq on Saturday. Don't worry, not bringing the dogs. It's a bit hot there this time of year.

Ordered!
Because of this we have a the above bike basket spare if anyone wants it before I give it to charity.

Obligatory: don't shave your single-cost dog too close (sunburn) and don't shave double-coat breeds at all (heats them up and ruins their winter coat)!

Much love to the hounds above!
We stick Hazel in a mission workshop rambler. She's been a few times now and doesn't mind it.

Wife just took our bitch to the vet as she had found a strange lump. Vet says it is probably a malignant tumour and I have to take her back for an operation tomorrow.
My wife is devastated.

Very sorry to hear, regards to all concerned.

She is home now, one breast removed. Have to wait a week for biopsy on the tumour to find out what sort/how aggressive etc. From x-ray it doesn't appear to have spread.

Fingers crossed for her

Cheers
She is blissfully unaware of the concern she has caused us.

Huge relief. Vet called this morning, visually the lump appeared cancerous but it was thankfully a rare granuloma of a type he hasn't seen in his 30 working years.
So fingers crossed all the infection was removed, will get more bloods done to hopefully confirm this.

One of my girlfriends jobs is a dog walker and also has dogs stay over when owners want to go away. We have a few to look after over the school holidays.
This is Crackers who loves a walk / be carried around in his basket.

Kudos to your gf for not being dictated to by the female grooming fascists.

Can I just clarify: is my scruffy lurcher double coat? Was just about to trim* all the long bits off, it's a bugger to brush and I met a trimmed one recently whose coat was just so nice to the touch in comparison.
*pay a professional to trim her, I hasten to add
