• Dem puppy fangs, ouch.

  • He waits, that's what he does.

  • Yeah, her standard facial expression is "guess where I just pooped lol?" tbf she's been really good with that, soon as we got her we took her out every half hour then gave her a treat when she had a pee/poop outside so now she's started barking at the back door when she needs out, occasional accident but very rarely

  • she's not afraid to use them! Got her some dried bulls cocks to chew on when she's having a wild half hour, they stink like you'd expect but keeps those teeth occupied & away from toes

  • Just out of shot, your slippers - chewed to ribbons despite the 2 dozen dog toys

  • We have a border-esq dog and he loves the sun. Sits there panting for ages until you have to tell him to go inside

  • I'm absolutely obsessed with Dorothy and Mavis - I need more photos!

I had no idea about blue staffies... I love a grey pet but hate anyone who gets a pet because it looks cute despite it being in horrible pain and then dying. Also, TEN GRAND FOR A DOG?! What the actual fuck!

  • I had no idea about blue staffies...

plenty of healthy grey (oh ok "blue") staffies about but many with issues and its a sign of more targeted breeding which am not sure is good with less responsible breeders (puppy farms).

    I need more photos!

    ....

  • Extremely cute. How's she settling in?

  • Thankyou! Only day 3 so early days. Having a pup arriving just as the weather warms up is a godsend as spends lots time out in garden

  • I'd love to but she's gone all shy

Only kidding - draw me like one of your french girls

  • That's good! Less accidents indoors anyway I imagine.

  • Those photos aren't showing for me for some reason. I feel like I'm missing out on good content

  • Had linked to google photos - sometimes they don't appear for some reason, have added bonus content for the inconvenience

She'll be making her maiden voyage into the great outdoors this weekend - one thing I previously didn't know about puppies was limiting the amount of walking they do to minimise stress on their hips, apparently 10-15 mins per day from 2 months, adding on 5 mins for every extra month old they are. Don't know if this is universal for all breeds or just what some breeders recommend - anyone else been advised of this?

  • limiting the amount of walking they do...

I think this is especially important with big dogs who still have a lot of growth to do but yeah, go easy for the first six months.

  • Crumpet's auditioning to be the next Andrex puppy.

  • So now we're waiting on a Basenji, mum is pregnant, see how we go... This breeder has been super hard to get hold of (I've been trying for about six months), bit of a weirdo but she breeds show dogs so that probably goes with the territory... We'll get choice of whichever puppies are left after the two breeders have had their picks... We just want a little mate, there'll be no dog show business here...

Little bit excited but we've had so many false starts already I'm not gonna get too giddy... Fingers crossed...

  • My first choice but OH has vetoed it! And they're bloody expensive too! Super adorable... 🙃

  • That's a bladdy dingo mate.

  • It is, it's an African dingo! OH didn't like the Mexican dingo but she likes these...

  • Yeah, I'd have happily rehomed the weirdest possible looking rescue woofer but having a 4 year old running about the place a cute fluffy puppy was the order of the day, my wife tells me it works out cheap if you look at it on a cost per year basis...

She's getting noticeably bigger by the week - could end up anywhere between hench guinea pig & Shetland pony. Probably more the former mind.

  • Our wee 9th month older border was attacked by a pitbull on Saturday lunchtime on Powrscroft road, e5. Pretty horrific: Unleashed Pitbull bolted across the road and sunk its teeth in before I could get her off the ground. It took four people and about 5 minutes to get the thing off. Thankfully no internal damage (though the vet said it a couple of millimetres at most from piercing the abdomen). Happy to say the vets she's making a good recovery and will hopefully be home the week. The attacking dog (which it turns out has form) was quickly identified (by a neighbours) and seized by the police, which is a huge relief.

Not heard from the police since. Anyone have any experience of a similar situation or able offer advice? Thanks.
