  • Crass were (an incredibly awesome) british crust-punk band.

one of the few that truly practiced what they preached...(depsite this i still think most 'anarchists' are dogmatic misguided idiots...)

  • I like to bend the rules.. if there were no rules to bend I'd get bored. I mean, who doesn't love a little loophole now and then.. ??

  • complete dribble.

  • ...........I am also troubled and saddened by the idea that my son, who is 2, will be taken away from me by the state for the best part of 12 years to be indoctrinated in the methods and needs of the corporate world.

    I might start drinking cider.

This doesn't need to happen, as long as you can prove he is educated to a sufficient standard 'they' will leave you alone.
The next two years will be interesting to say the least, so hopefully before he has to go to school, things may have been shaken up a little.

full of utter lunatics of course, and not a word of it is true, however...Only one little snippet would have to be true, and most of society would collapse.

oh...and this...and this is actually true...ignore the leopard and the bongos..

YouTube- Project Camelot interviews Jane Burgermeister

secondly i like the nun better.

YouTube- Joseph Moshe (MOSSAD Microbiologist) Swine flu vaccine 1

  • i work in an office and own a crass album. does that count?

I used to work in the Crass office...

  • I am a whore in garden and an orthodox Jew in the bedroom.

God all Mighty, does that mean you are.... ?

  • Thanks, to Velo in particular. Can't believe I didnt mention schnews., disgraceful!

  • ok so from the above we have established anarchists aren't very good at being anarchists
can anyone else recommend an extremist political party that actually practices what they preach
as i am looking to join an evening class ( can only do weds and thurs evenings though ) and i thought extreme politics might be right up my street

  • dicki, have you thought of the Liberal Democrats? They don't seem to have any underlying philosophy and therefore preach nothing and do less. I suspect that they are also amenable to part time activism. Or should that be inactivism?

  • our last reisdent anarchist was a complete fuckwit

Today was my second ride in and I couldn't be fucked to take tyre levers, a pump or a tube.
    FUCK THE SYSTEM!

yep, for him the entire struggle was against the prevailing orthodox view of it might be best to take tools with you on your bike

  • Same as certain IT workers with a penchant for bike forums then..

    You called.

  • @ clive

do you know if the liberals provide tea and biscuits at their meetings ?
ideally i'd like a political party that provides tea and biscuits upon arrival, a very civilised way to start changing the world order

  • I think Colin Ward had some interesting things to say.

  • it's all very well being an anarchist until you need the system and all it's benefits.
there are plenty of armchair anarchists out there who become willing subjects and citizens when they need a handout, the NHS, the library or their bins emptied etc etc.

  • @ hippy
Crass: Leona Lewis is well into them

  • From Big A Little A:
If you don't like religion you can be the antichrist
If you're tired of politics you can be an anarchist
But no one ever changed the church by pulling down a steeple
And you'll never change the system by bombing number ten
Systems just aren't made of bricks they're mostly made of people
    ...

Exactly. there was a time when i thought stuff like reclaim the streets was an awesome way to stick it to the man, and stuff. untill you close off a street and hold up an ambulance so long they have to give up their mission. then you realise you're not sticking it to the man, you're just being a fucking dick.

  • dicki, I suspect that the Liberal Democrats only drink Evian or Fuji water although they all hanker after Lemon Barley Water. Certainly not the types to splash on biscuits.

  • Cannabis. So much to answer for.....

  • Thing is, if you go around calling everyone in a balaclava or a protest an "anarchist" then you may well be lacking an understanding of what anarchism is - just like the people you are slating.

  • In 1979, shortly before the General Election, a slogan appeared on a wall near Grosvenor Square in Mayfair:

    "Anarchists Vote Tory!"

I was never sure if it was a statement or a command but, very shortly into the Thatcher era, I began to understand the message.

Though this take on things is somewhat erroneous, the 'System' could be far far more efficient and empathetic, as it is it is still a who is the highest bidder...ie ...if your poor in certain climes...that ambulance isn't coming down your street anyways.

Questioning the system isn't necessarily being a fucking dick, it's asking it to be better run. The NHS has more people doing the paperwork than offering treatment, is that really neccessary?

Not knowing the exact figures, but, yes, it could well be necessary.

Totally, but surely there are better ways to question the system than 'fucking shit up' by having a big party at the expense of others. it irritates me in the same way as those militant cyclists swiping mirrors at critical mass, you're not legitamising your cause, you're being a dick.

The NHS was at it's most efficient during the 60's (ie the carry on films period), time and time again is it discussed that the Matron system was by far the most efficient and effective system. However, the 'problem' was the nurses ran the hospitals rather then the 'management'.

There is now a culture of consultancy which costs a ridiculous amount of money.
