ill explain the problem first, i have the tools i need, i took the none drive side crank off, i took the lockring off, then like before when i put it in i used a pin tool to try tighten it, but now it started to wobble and now i cant undo or tighten it with the pintool to stop the wobble, at all! wont budge 1mm
so if i cant get it out it will probably get worse and eventually be un-ridable
tried gt-85, similar things, nothing works
so i hoped maybe some one knew how to sort it on here

Any idea on the BB model cat# Sounds like a cheap BB ?
-
• #109
well its from a Guerciotti road bike conversion and it has Italian threads, that's all i know
-
• #110
GT85 is no good as a penetrant. If you can get hold of some Plus Gas and soak the BB shell in that for 24 hours or so.

something i could get in a bike shop?
-
• #112
It depends - a decent hardware store would be my first choice.

• #113
Got a picture when i took it apart, maybe it helps...
i was replacing parts with slightly better ones to by the way
-
• #114
Threads make no difference really, can you get a pic of it ?
-
• #115
Sounds like a decent frame/BB. Italian threads are notorious for undoing themselves. WOW RONNIE IT'S DIFFO ! HOW YA DOING KID ? seen ya new Look bike on here. Yes I'm jealous.

shame it just hasn't come loose, ill try more Thursday
it only really wobbles a tiny bit, you have to consintrate to feel it, but that's how it starts....

THREAD DREDGE
does anyone have any experience stretching frames to accommodate wider hubs? Say, stretching the rear drop out spacing from 120mm to 130mm. Is this too much of a stretch? Can there be too much of a stretch?

Read up on cold-setting.

Thanks rhb. I feel like I have read that before but I was probably too afraid to have a go at it. Second time round it doesn't seem too daunting so I might try it out if it comes to it. Good to have some confirmation that the stretch from 120 to 130 is feasible.

Will the LBS have jockey wheel/pulley bolts? Like this:

I dont think you'll have any problems assuming is skinny steel. 5mm each side in let's say 500mm is 1%
this?
