This year we're going to Borneo to live with the primates for a fortnight. Basically like contributing to the football thread for 14 days.
Anyone been?

Does anyone know anywhere nice in the South/Centre of France that is either near a lake or close enough to walk to the coast and has a station?
Not a complete tourist trap but I know that everywhere is going to be pretty busy in the summer. -

Best part of Lisbon to stay in? We're off for a long weekend break in the next coupla weeks...
We'll probably Air B'n'B it so somewhere close to a good market as well as the sea and cheap local restaurants would be awesome...

Lake Lacanau in the Gironde. Beautiful big lake for swimming and windsurfing and near the coast. We went there quite a few times when I was a kid. Lots of tourists but very few Brits I recall.

I'm going back to Portugal again this year. I can't reveal exactly where as I don't want you to find out and come.

I don't know what level of fancy you're looking for but we stayed here, which is super low-key and awesome:

Which had the best breakfast spread of cakes and incredible food and the lady who runs it is super lovely.Location is pretty good too, imo.
Nevermind- just saw the airbnb plan

That looks lovely, Henry... We're not tied down to Air B'n'B but I love making my own breakfast in the morning or eating in in the evening if we don't fancy going out...

I can understand. Been completely converted myself to Airbnb recently, it makes a holiday so much better having that little extra control.

Can anyone share good Air BnB experiences? Spain/Italy/Portugal near beach would be brilliant, doesn't have to be dirt cheap. Thanks!

Suggestions for somewhere cheap at the end of July/August?
Ideally, beach, bit of food, maybe some stuff to do.
Flights aren't an issue due to using airmiles, but want to spend as little as poss while there.
