I applied for roughly £580 of tickets and have had zero taken from my account.

Just wanted to take the kids to SOMETHING so in years to come they could say they went. We chose a pretty wide range of stuff but I think the one 'kids special price' session for each sport will have been massively oversubscribed so it was always going to very slim chances.

Jeez, what a shambles, I'm no longer sorry I absentmindedly missed the deadline for bidding for tickets. It's something I think whenever I see foolios queue up to get lottery tickets - poor bastards are buying hope.

Second round should be less subscribed though non? I'll be looking for tickets for the boxing, which should be suitably unpopular amongst most first-world bedwetters. Track events will have to be devoured on a big screen with a full fridge.

Have been checking my bank account on a daily basis and they don't want any of my money nor give me tickets. I've put something like 1k on track, bmx and beach volleyball.

it is highly unlikely that everyone in the world will get in ( i've seen the stadium and i can assure you it doesn't hold 6bn )
therefore some people will be disappoint

maybe we should start a thread on the national lottery and have people rant about how disappointed they are that they didn't win the 30mn roll over last night

2Million People applied for 6Million tickets. they just made 20Million applications.. why.. because it was a fucking lottery and you had to put your neck on the line with over spending in the blind hope you get the ones you want. Why not just restrict the numbers and do first come first served! works for ~Glasto and tons of other events?

i'd be interested to see the market for selling un-wanted tickets i.e. those how got more than they could really afford.

i think Coach and Horses, affordable beer and big screen will probably be the best seats in the house this olympics.

They lived just off the old street circuit so not that difficult. Way cheaper than tickets and Couch + beers = win!
