love this. gives saturday's date to add to the confusion.

get out there and ride though. you all know those lanes are wonderful

  • i think that's basically it. i'm going nuts not doing anything other than my commute. i don't want to do laps of richmond park every sunday. i'm sure the original rides to brighton on this forum were this organised.
and i quite like the idea of seeing badgers. even if that means i've missed the train.

  • Ntsmtnrcbtwdrosawutnrcr?

    catchy huh?

Isn't that a village in Wales?

  • what about tomorrow then?

  • I'm still in, and I'm still hoping for a last minute good soul show up which knows the route, or at least is able to resume it.......

it will be fine even just picnic though!

  • hi! just got home.
i'm still up for this. if the weather is so so it'll still be good to get out and about somewhere that isn't my commute.

see you all at 10 at waterloo.

  • A late entrant if that's ok.... still Waterloo at 10?

  • yep yep yep

  • I'm still up for this. I'm also ridiculously hungover so apologies in advance if anyone sees me puke on my creps.

  • A late entrant if that's ok.... still Waterloo at 10?

  • just saw this, Freeform sunday rides... total riding.... inventing routes in the country hunting badgers!

    SOLD!

    next week

  • right, i'm on my way to waterloo.

  • i will there soon lets do groupsave

  • ohh yeah, and groupsex too......

  • A saviour appears in the form of Balmain. Chances of seeing (nocturnal) badgers have diminished. ;-)

  • P.S. Have an enjoyable ride.

  • lord only knows where these guys are at right now (11:28 badger time)

  • home. fucking ace.
great day out. no mechanicals. some horrible climbs. some good fun climbs.
    big smiles all round.

  • massive props to des for leading.

    next week?

  • A lovely picnic. Beautiful, just beautiful.

    Tm - 3 hours
    Dst - 38 mph
    Av - 13
    Mx - 38

Plenty of chatting .............. laughing things, a quick lunch stop and lovely weather all that with great mates!
...... nice friends + funny chatting = Brights Times ... we all know that equation.

  • thanks Des and all of you or the awesome ride.

  • Despite the best efforts of the railways to thwart this one, that was a lovely ride - cheers for getting this together. No badgers, but there was the re-appearence of that long forgotten warmth and sunshine - first time in short sleeves for months, forgotten how good a day ride can be.

For the record we basically did the TNRC new route, excluding the beginning but adding in Box Hill, Westhumble and a diversion into Peaslake for a tea/food stop - so a decent amount of climbing. That's the 4th time I've done Whitedown this year and its not getting any easier. Top fixed effort from Damo & wools, shame about Marco's knee probs and good to see tikka back in form.

Still wondering about the concept of 'rebooting' a train though.... thought there might be a more technical approach to repairing a train than switching it off and then restarting it. Plus it didn't work.
