Riding the eJoy I built for my partner for the next couple of weeks while my cycletruck is in for frame modifcations. I think the Gen3 Performance Line Sport is by far my favorite drive unit, and this bike is just perfect for chill fall riding.

Is Swytch the only real option for a quick front wheel swap setup? Debating a setup on the GF's bike.

I know there are others available online, but Swytch seems to have ease of installation down pat - my friend is no mechanic but he managed just fine, though I had to adjust his brakes after the wheel was on.

Same query here for my wife bike (planetx disc).
How much it costs? -

Check the website, not sure.
They make them in batches, so be prepared to wait. -

+1 to this, been riding RemiDemi + trailer and an eJoy the last week, the motors in these aren't mad powerful, but plenty enough, and quiet, mostly the quiet that I notice which is nice. Pretty upright and regular handling, get places in a good mood for sure.

I would actually disagree about swytch ease of etc. I had to file down the axle to get it to fit, it was a huge mfing pain.
I guess if your dropouts are the right size it's not a big deal, but maybe measure with a calliper first.

I think my friend paid somewhere around 650 cad.

Recently purchased a Circe Helios and building it up as the family do everything bike.
What is everyones current recommendation on front hub motors?

Basically this apparently. It was my brother in law's bike, c Boardman type thing.
If not for that it would have been pretty straight forward.

Thanks, didn't know about that.

Well, I'm glad we (finally) got our gocycle. Just had an email from them about price increases from Jan - adding £600 to the base model (£3399 up to £3999) and £1k on to the others (£3999 up to £4999). Ouch.

I've had one run into work which was fun. Topping out at 25 kmh is a bit dull though - i found myself mostly at that speed then hitting the no more power - need to treat it a bit more chilled I think and change the power curve down a bit. It's for the missus really so she's building up the confidence to do a full commute with small trips.
Zooming up the side of Streatham common is more fun than doing it fixed - confirmed. (And can see it being an excellent hangover bike - fresh air but minor effort) -

Electric bike advice for mother in law. For trips to the shops etc. Not offroad or too exciting. What kind of price/any forum approved ones?

My Mum bought a Giant Entour, first bike she's ridden in easily 20years, and she loves it. She'd normally drive 1.5miles to the shops, now she rides.

My partner loves her Kalkhoff Agattu. Refined would be a good description, with hub gears, built in lights, low step through. Fantastic range with the 500wh battery.

Working on our first Bosch bike with the new Smart System and 750wh Powertube and holy hell does it feel lightyears ahead of the last generations in terms of cable management!
26lb isn't bad at all for an eBike with lights and fenders.
