Remember that going from 100 to 400 over 11 years is only 13% annual growth.
Damn good for sure, but since you would be more than likely to have spread your portfolio over a bunch of regions you might have only turned that 100 into the average: 280 which is a lower 10% CAGR.
Good but not heroic. Just ask braker. -

knowing braker he would have bought a case of Blue Nun and one of Black Tower and stashed it in the airing cupboard for a rainy day

When he penetrates the German market he'll go for Reisling and Liebfraumilch.

There's a wine dealer on the forum actually, but I could never invest...
The thought of waking up in a stuper on the sofa with a kebab on my chest and a half-finished bottle of £10k plonk sat on the floor fills me with dread.

actually, wine market has collapsed in the last 6 months. the spike at the end drops off drastically because the bubble has popped. i heard it is due to tighter purses chasing after only select known good vinards...so ive been told

so the graph continues upwards for the select grand cru's
typical the rich getting richer and all that ......

it all comes down to that famous wine expert robert parker
what he says goes
the big grand cru's announce their prices after he gives judgements on the years harvest
he can make or break a vineyard -

^ this, got a mate who works for Justernini and Brooks and due to a certain review and point scoring of 100, has sent his Bordeaux sales through the roof, even after the initial first tasting release.

or is it now £125 per bottle and you'd rather spend the cash on a nice sugino 75 crankset -

Best wait for the Scoble rating before pushing the button on those cranks.

I've had a search on the site and couldn't find anything so wondered if anyone could recommend an IFA? Preferably an IFA London based. Thanks.

It wouldn't be a very funny joke would it?
I'm looking for someone who knows a lot more about investments and pensions than I do because it's their job. Someone who would be able to advise me on the best route to take with regard to said investments and pensions.
You are joking?
Can you be a bit more specific about what advice you require?
I am really not sure that ayone really needs an IFA. What they need to do is read read read and take sensible steps (eg chuck small lump sums into safe(ish) tracker funds with low costs every so often when the index being tracked takes a bit of a dip and hope that the long term sorts you out.(
!hic! ooops just drank my retirement !hic!
