Like I said, the higher the hole, the higher the tension on the return spring. This doesn't however affect how well your brakes will grip the rim.

Spring tension will do nothing for "sweet spot" on the rim... you need to move the spacers around on the brake pad itself.

And defo get rid of your travel agent, that's for short pull levers.
Is your wheel true Kev?
-
• #305
Travel agent is gone but only after a long search in my parts boxes for a regular noodle. The wheel is straight, maybe one slight kink, but nothing serious. I put the pin into the upper hole, now the spring tension is very high... also the point where it rests on a little pin is quite close to the end, it doesnt feel right. not sure if its going to stay there with a polo knock... hard to explain cos I dont know all the part names for those type of brakes.

Still not 100% happy with the v brakes... not biting that rim enough. Will need more fine tuning I guess.
Does anyone know if anyone sells wheels built up around this hub, or something like it? s/s with disc brake.

DMR revolver
It says currently unavailable, and its still just the hub... I'm looking for a complete wheel around such a hub.

CRC do wheel builds on a DMR Revolver...
http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=45812
thats a pretty good buy for the price.. -

Good luck finding a revolver anywhere, I tried last year, ordered from 3 places, all got cancelled cos they didn't have them. Ended up buying a Hope Pro II Trials.
-
• #311
Did you get a complete wheel or just the hub and build it yourself gabes?
-
• #312
self build. If you get it built, and it's for polo, make sure you get plain gauge spoke, double butted will get destroyed.

thats a pretty good buy for the price..revolvers seem to be in stock at CRC at the moment (http://tinyurl.com/2859qf4) so i'd guess their custom wheel build can be done, providing all other bits are in stock.

I broke a Sapim Super Strong in Utrecht.
Is that the first one to break? It wasn't a nipple break.

Ha! Super Sissy Spokes for the win.

First I've ever heard of! Was it on the gaydial wheel??
-

I have a gaydial wheel made of super sissy spokes.... I challenge Snoops to a duel.

Ok, so looks like we're going to have 48 hole Sputniks available again if everything works out. Silver and black, machined or unmachined, hoping for £20 delivered per rim, woop.

• #319
where from?
-
• #320
A distributor called Target, they'll either pop up again in a select few online stores where we can buy them (details to come), or the LHBPA will buy a bulk load and distribute them (at cost), or we'll be able to order through Target directly.
The guy's still working out the pricing and will then put in a special order for us (he's gonna try and price up a super cheap introductory polo wheelset around some Quando hubs too).

Nice one... :]

well done jon!

• #323
That's awesome news.

Awesome John, some black machined would be great for me.
The Sapim Super Strong broke on the non-gaydial rear. 4x laced.

Wooooo, Spa never offered 48h machined either so this is double good news.
Nice one Jon
Landslide says highest hole, Todd says lowest hole...
