Digital photography

Having a ball on the isle of Tiree. Cycled up to the NATS radar station last night to catch the golden hour. Bastard steep hill and I was on the Rockhopper with panniers full of camera kit (tripod, monopod, OM-D EM-1, Dynax 7000i, couple of lenses, young lass's baby seat frame, etc) so missed the best light by 5 minutes!

Wonder why you bring both tripod and monopod though!

tripod for long exposures, monopod for shorter exposures?

^^ beautiful, except i can see vignetting? particularly on the left.

I guess my point is if you don't swing out the legs of your tripod you basically have a "monopod", so no need to schlepp one as well.

ya but extending the legs takes forever. monopod be like shwinggg

Ok, fair enough.. would not be enough of an incentive for me to bring one though, haha..

Seriously though I like it much at the moment (you can see it in all of the "vehicle" pictures) and add it purposely in post, often even two times.

Nah mate - lovely colours. Fuji all over. @Spotter - what processing, if any? Are you shooting RAW then using Fuji profiles or custom?

Two cameras, was considering setting the digital on a long (2minute + exposure) and playing with the film camera. As it was I just took this panorama and never used the mono pod.... cost me valuable seconds.

I love these new digital "Fuji colours", but I guess more for urban / for "things" than for landscapes.

I mean in the stitch. You can make out each frame because of the banding caused by each vignette.

Maybe I should have processed each shot before stitching to try and remove any vignette. TBH I struggle with actually viewing these panoramic photos..... no screen does them justice.

Surely there is an augmented reality view for phone/iPads?

Had another dry spell lately. Too much stuff going on.

Also, is Berlin just full if weird vans? You never see stuff like that in London.

That's it, I need to find out more about this city of abandoned vans and dentrassi. I'll be there in a few weeks to find my own photo themes.

Well.. Berlin is big, and has many different faces (read: districts).
There's posh districts with a lot of shiny new SUV's and Audi's etc., but the bigger part of the city is rather full of old cars - and busses and such..
