Hey anyone here got any retouchers they recommend?
-
• #8303
What kind of work?
-
• #8304
Shot of a model in a hotel room, so cosmetic retouching.
-
• #8305
sorry, can't help then. I can do some still life stuff, and got friends who's great at it, but not cosmetic

Post a picture in here, so everybody can have a go
: ]Seriously though we should do a PS thread on here..

That's a fucking great idea. It would just end up as loads of photochopped cat pictures and Joe memes.

Or become one of those Buzzfeed article about how the internet come to a starving photographer's rescue showing several variation of retouching.

Whats all this babble with taking iPads and card readers or macbook airs,
and then there's the storage issue - lol, wut?To clarify; iPhones have fixed, limited storage. People keep things other than images on their phone, and once it's full (as it could easily become if you're going touring, having shot the odd video and whatnot), it's full (as far as taking pictures and keeping them goes).
Really sorry to have worn you out with all this discussion on this 'ere discusson forum.Bro do you even Airdrop? Or Photosync, which I've using for years before Apple finally got their act together.
Airdrop's great, if you've taken something with you to Airdrop to. Haven't used Photosync, will check it out.
Not sure why the photography-centric folks here are fighting against using a dedicated camera whilst touring - Bro do you even redundancy? -

Bit of a triptych of the bleak Norfolk coast at Winterton-on-Sea. All on an x100.
Should have had a central horizon on the bottom one, but c'est la vie.
-
• #8313
Really nice. I actually prefer the botttom one with that horizon...
-
• #8314
Thanks! Yeah I do too, it just doesn't quite work in the series. The sky was so flat by the end of the day I was worried they would just look awful, but I'm actually pretty pleased.

Mophie's Space Pack fix this, twice the battery life and storage up to 64GB.
-
• #8316
I can see its validity if you don't have room for a camera or prefer to use iPhone, and it's great that solutions like that exist (it's taken long enough), but £80 for 64GB of space vs £25 spent on an SDXC card is no contest for me.

It's basically airdrop, pre-airdrop. Though it's still better than airdrop (more features). However if the cable is around, plugging the iPhone to laptop and using Image Capture means its easy to transfer files.

Oh no, I'm totally in agreement in a dedicated camera for touring, it's a sensible idea. Your previous comment just reminded me of the time when it was hard to get photos from your camera, and Apple insisted in everyone using iPhoto (worst software ever).

proper Montreal or proper New York?
-
• #8319
Not tried Montreal, but it's real soft and chewy.
-
• #8320
Winnipeg's are apparently akin to New York style (not tried). I like both, but of course Montreal-style is a treat since I'm over 2000 km from there.
Hey, here's a foto.

I was considering getting a OM-D EM-1 but I've seen some issues with really nasty noise when taking doing long exposures. I'm going away to Tiree next year and want to take some dark sky images and I think this kind of noise would ruin them: (http://www.wrotniak.net/photo/m43/em1-em5-dark.html)
Any suggestions on the ultimate MFT body for image quality that doesn't have this kind of issue? I have the GX-1 at the moment.

Overcooked them a bit...

Maybe!
Like the first shot.
Can imagine this looking pretty good as a square as well (crop the bottom). -

@well_is_it really digging the first image, lots of layers.
I read a handful of review, and the camera perform almost equally well between the 6 and 6+, only the 6+ top well with the OIS;
