  • Shoot moar.
We're in digital, so go for it.

  • Do nudes.

  • Ghetto fisheye and a Tokyo observation deck I didn't even know existed till I wandered in

    real lens

  • Fuuuuu that's a lot of rooms.

Nice pictures shinkuu, like the ghetto fisheye, but the last one is really great!

  • how do you wander in to a sky scraper?

  • Shoot moar.
We're in digital, so go for it.

But moar crap makes me feel bad.

    Do nudes.

    You around next Friday?

I think I need to go somewhere very different, familiarity makes it hard to shoot.

  • Isn't that the government building in Tokyo?

  • ^^ Then go somewhere new, specifically to shoot.
Can be a ghetto or source of the Thames or whatever, just go somewhere that is alien to you, jump start your creativity.

  • ^^^ Or try to think of a theme or challenge and do that for a period of time: shoot everything with a specific lens/FOV; look up/down; find colours/movement etc etc

  • ^^^^ ..or just basically shoot were and what you were shooting before -
but this time with the awareness that your pictures (compared to, like, "great photographers") are crap.
Think really hard about what is great about your pictures, and why, and amplify these things.
Do the same, but different - do it better.
    It's a challenge.

  • Cool, those are some very good ideas. Thanks all - hopefully I will report back with some pictures...

  • ^^ That's basically what I've been trying to do. Seems to work for getting out of ruts.

  • Fundamentally, just going out and taking millions of pictures to try and get something new by brute force won't teach you shit (it will at least teach you its a waste of time). Making photographs is much more about seeing than doing. Its cliché but its true. Go somewhere new.

  • So I think I'm going to sell my 5d. I'm just not getting use out of it and most of the time I come up with an excuse as to why I'm not taking it because it's too bloody big.

Thinking of buying an x10/20 or something panasonic.

Where is the best place for me to sell my 5d and lenses?

  • I'm not sure where best to sell but I'm possibly interested in a lens, what have you got?

  • So I think I'm going to sell my 5d. I'm just not getting use out of it and most of the time I come up with an excuse as to why I'm not taking it because it's too bloody big.

I second that notion. (Though mine was a Nikon.)

The mFT bodies and lenses are a godsent.

  • htfu ppl !!

    ; )

  • you try walking/hiking carry loads of kit. I'm trying to weight weenie!!

  • I'm not sure where best to sell but I'm possibly interested in a lens, what have you got?

Probably going to stick them on ebay or possibly forum sell.

    Lenses are as follows;

    50 1.8
    35 2
    28-75 2.8

    5d plus battery grip

    Nissin di622 flash.

  • Got a secondhand x100 for my birthday on Sunday. Absolutely love it. I head out for half an hour on my lunch break to finally partake in the street photography my 300d didn't allow.

I basically just want to be WillMelling.

  • Ha, be careful what you wish for. I like the accordion man.

Written in human shit (not by me). Also, silent mode is really useful when you find yourself taking photos in a public toilet.

  • Not close enough!

  • ^^^ all really good.

Even with the x100 I haven't got the nerve to shoot people up close unless I'm in Oxford St or somewhere equally as busy...
