Needs reposting. Proper good that.
@RedVikingHood - Picassa web? Why not flickr?

It does some resampling with the smaller sizes but leaves the original untouched. Does it really matter? Not being arsey, its just not something I've really noticed or felt was a detriment.

Barring Flickr, any suggestions for an alternative to imageshack?
I use tumblr.
Not sure if they compress huge images (pixel or file size wise),
but I'm positive they leave my small ones as they are. -

nice mr.
marrakesh ?did you post process the image in any way ?
please remember to let us know if you have altered your images in any way when posting them

let us know if you have altered your images
I don't think this should be a rule.
I mean come on, "altering" already begins with the in-camera JPG settings, saturation, contrast, etc. -
only RAWs would not be altered (and even those are sharpened or loose sharpness during resizing, depending on what algorithm is used).I realize it's interesting how somebody made an image look like it does,
but I think it should be ok if the photographer does not by default share all his post.
Just ask if you're interested, or figure it out for yourself I'd say. -

@ Dicki, it's Dubai. I did post process it with Silver Efx. I've been through a long phase of deliberately not processing photos, it's a learning curve but lead nowhere really interesting for me. Now I'm processing them to taste.
I don't mind answering the question about post processing as I know you are interested in what the camera/lens is technically capable of. I'm just putting photos out there and not examples of the camera/lens technical ability.
It's difficult to assess a camera from jpegs but we all do it anyway.
This one is processed with Color FX. I'm using the suite of Nik plugins at the moment, some alteration in lightroom maybe.

A fence for Tina.
Adjusted colour curves, perspective correction and pulled the highlights down a bit.

A fence for Tina
That side blow is getting old
Adjusted colour curves, perspective correction and pulled the highlights down a bit.
Looks wonky and photoshopped, if that's what you were going for, congratulations.

They seem to turn back into thumbnails after a few hours if you do embed them. I'll look at a hosting service that integrates with Lightroom through a publishing plug in. If anyone uses one that works then please let me know.

I think (can't remember 100%) that they turn into thumbnails if over certain dimensions.
On a separate topic, I mentioned a while back about location tagging photos using GPS. Turns out it is pretty easy to do through Lightroom, you can upload a GPS file (I got it from Garmin 800) and it will then location tag your pictures so you can also browse by a map.
Pretty useful for remembering where you took photos in unfamiliar places.
