  • Considering selling my GXR with 50mm and 28mm equivalent units in order to finance new GR. Bad move?
I'd like something a little smaller/lighter, and have heard good things about it.
I'm happy with the prime lens, and though I would prefer a 35, the crop option still leaves me with 10 megapixels.

    So we're all agreed then?

  • back-button focussing is the shit

  • ^^It sounds like a pretty good idea to me (I am a gr series fanboy though...) but think about (maybe you already have) the fact that with the crop you're still going to get the perspective effects and distortion of the 28mm lens, and personally when I wish I had a longer lens it's more often this that I'm frustrated by than the actual angle of view as such.

  • ^ +1

  • ^^ Yeah, that is a concern to me too.
I've also thought of the GM1 with a 17 or 20 lens, or even possibly some of the smaller Pentax offerings. I'm a little leery about leaving the APS-C environment though.

  • I tend to use the 50mm equivalent unit way more than the 28mm.

  • Canon 1000D / stock zoom

  • Go home crow you're drunk!

    Also 1000D / stock zoom

  • Eeeeew! Can't stop looking...

  • I know its a cheesy photo of a flower but I fucking love magnolia.
    X100, hardly any editing.

  • that's not current is it

  • I see your Magnolia and raise you a plum.

  • Not mine, from here.

  • that's not current is it

Taken today, actually. I was surprised too, they're a month early.

  • oh boy..

  • ^ 'Climate Change', idiots.
We've had one of our colder winters on record out here.

  • Yes oliver, "quite", just quite, slowly and safe and it will be just fine.

  • ^ 'Climate Change', idiots.
We've had one of our colder winters on record out here.

Yea but basically it's getting "warmer", like, globally.

  • Laws of averages leave me cold.

  • ^^ Link no work.

  • It would be very useful to have recorded weather stats for Winnipeg going back to 1727.

  • it would be nice if people when posting their own photos stated whether they have been post processed / manipulated
it is nice to know what the camera can do on it's own and what has been corrected

some images just look so unnatural would be nice to know what is real and what isn't

You going to go onto the film photography thread and ask them how many hours they spent in the darkroom? Course not. A photograph is a destination not a journey. You want camera ability, check the DxO or dpreview.com

  • ^^ Yeah, yeah, I get you if you're saying that we don't have enough data to say that our planet is changing due to human influence.
That's fine, I believe humans are fatally flawed regardless and will destroy ourselves whether we take the planet with us or not.
    I've been flushed out.
