  • I think they almost always price thief items as RRP whereas other chains are able to to lower their price. To be honest, it was the 1st time in a very long time I buy proper UK stock or brand new but I do like to do a lot of 'window shopping' on the Internet to dream of the day if I win the lottery wha would I buy...

  • Do you still need any of the pics? You should at least be able to move them onto your computer. Once you are sure there's not left you want from the card, just format it on the camera or on the computer. I would probably do it on the camera. Formatting should override everything.

  • So I finally got round writing details of my cameras for sale.

  • Just gauging interest, if a second hand D700 goes for a grand, how much (realistically) would you pay for one that the hotshoe can be tempramental and the pop-up flash doesn't work?

  • To be honest, I probably wouldn't bother with it at all, not so much because of the pop up flash but the hotshoe... but if I had to, I would probably offer £600 and wait for a counter offer... Would be willing to part with about £700 - £750 I guess. Or I would get a quote from a repairer to see how much it'd cost to repair either / both and deduce the cost from the £1k... are you selling or thinking of buying??

  • Selling. Thanks, that's what I was thinking. Yep repair not worth the cash. Hotshoe works, but can just fire on its own accord sometimes.

  • firing more often is better than not firing when it's needed to. If you have a low shutter count, it would certainly help with the sale... Aperture has a few D700 at various conditions, maybe use their price as reference?

  • I like 'em both, especially the second, really kinetic.

Depends who you target it at. If I had the money I'd make you an offer right now! (£750 odd) I want one for the sheer speed/exposure quality/low light capabilities. I don't think I'd ever need to use a flash with it. It's a sought after camera that damn well refuses to depreciate.

@Extra beat me to it. Though I disagree over the flash point. If you're pro enough to be going staged/studio, you'll be rolling Canon or D800.
Then again, I'm feeling biased today.

  • D800 is OTT I think, 36 MP is too large... What will you to do with it other than saying my images are 36 MP each. I don't know... But

Funny you should mention pro, I was just speaking to a couple of photo technicians at work the other day about how the title photographer can be earned and used after your name but the title artist is just a load of BS. I am "technically" an artist because of my qualifications etc but not once in my lifetime have I used that. The title photographer I do use from time to time... the most ridiculous title I have ever seen and keep seeing "Conceptual Artist"... anyway, I am having a bit of midnight oh shit I am running out of time so I talk BS moments...

  • Been looking for a new home since flickr decided to BREAK ALL THE THINGS. I've set up a tumblr and am slowly removing as much cruft as possible. Its nice to have white space again and see each photo on its own, not just a loony wall of pictures.

  • link?

I am a professional 'conceptual artist'. I have made more money as such than I probably ever would doing weddings, and it's much more enjoyable. Problem?

  • link?

Once I've got more than one thing up! Just set it up during a lul at work...

  • I bought a Canon G9 to replace my Powershot SD780 (which i need to sell if anyone is interested?), I like it so far.

  • ^ both of those are great, I especially like the top one.

Right, I've managed to strip-away as much code as possible without breaking anything. Still tweaking though.

    Too minimal?

  • Fuck no, infact I would like the code, I was thinking of getting a tumblr but there was way too much crap!

    also cheers.

  • if you look at some of the more minimal themes quite a lot are made so you can edit easily and it's not that hard anyway, just make it monochrome then delete all the links you don't want/don't fill in the fields for things you don't want

mine is just white with a single post at once (except I have a title and some links at the bottom) and it didn't take long
