  • Finally own a 85mm 1.2L

    I am most pleased.

  • Blimey, you got it new? That thing is a beast.

  • May as well be new, (bar a tiny dent in the box) just £400 less!

  • So it looks like canon might announce some interesting stuff at photonika this month... the loudest rumour being a 7d2 which will be an entry level full frame to go against Nikon's 600d which is all but confirmed.
Also, a 70d which will replace the 7d and 60d as the high-end crop sensor.

  • Christ that's a beard and a half

  • Not sure if this has been covered before, but does anyone know of any nice looking, yet functional camera bags that aren't billingham prices? Looking for a bag to take a small dslr with lens attached + extra lens. Something a bit like this: http://www.ukdigital.co.uk/tamrac-rally-2-camera-bag-3442-black.html

  • I've been using a camera bag insert for a couple of years in various bags, the one I have fits messenger bags particularly well as it's more rectangular in shape. Has a couple of dividers and lots of velcro so you can reposition stuff as you like.

However I can't remember what mine's called, but there's a few you can get!

Brilliant, didn't know they existed. Now where's my bank card?!

  • Funnily enough I'm looking for a camera bag that doesn't look like a typical camera bag. More like a day bag - if that's possible?

I've got a small bag I can fit camera with lens and a bigger bag that rarely leaves the house and is more of a storage bag.

I'd like something which looks good, doesn't look like a camera bag (so I can avoid looking like a tourist) and has space for other items too.

At the moment my cycling bag is a banjo brothers rucksack and in the past I've used a camera bag within that.

  • Domke? - particularly the canvas ones rather than the black nylon ones

  • I've got a Crumpler shoulder bag i can part with. Dark green outer with yellowy/orange inner (looks better than it sounds). Was perfect for my Hasselblad or 5D+spare lens. It's not a photo bag as such, so good for using in a city, but padding enough to hold a camera securely.

Can't find the equivalent on their site, but if anyone's interested I can find out which model it is

  • I know its probably not much help but I've got a spare Lowepro rucksack if you want it. its this one in black

padded section in the base with a large'ish section for sarnies etc up top

  • I just ordered one of these, as I think it'll fit inside my Ortleib back pack that I'm taking with me to the US...

  • I've got the system 6 and that just slides in my banjo brothers bag.

  • Bit of Boris bike action. I rather anally moved all the crank arms out the way.

  • I'm after a sub £100 compact to take cycle touring with me - Any recommendations, I'm deliberately not looking for anything expensive because

a)likelyhood of being lost or stolen
b)I'm useless at taking photos, no matter the camera

so something point and shoot - any brands to go for? avoid?

I have seen some good pics come out of the Canon Ixus compacts. I would also be inclined to look at the Panasonic Lumix range.

This is a good buy and ticks all your boxes.

  • +1 for the Ixus, love mine

  • The panasonic cameras are fantastic.

We brought one a while ago that I use for cycling (sometimes) as well as going out. Mrs. Spenceey carries it with her all the time.

  • I'm for the Canon, have the NA equivalent of the 220 HS IXUS.

  • +1 to Domke. I have a tiny little one that's just right for a rangefinder and a couple of lenses. And it doesn't look like a camera bag.

  • Came crawling back to iPhone this week and have been enjoying the VSCO app.

Some photos that were done with it... http://28fixed.com/blog/

  • Some nice stuff in there!

Really like vsco, quite impressed by what you can do with it, and that stuff doesn't all turn out like instagram, there's loads of scope to do actually good stuff
