These are so good! Contrast in textures in No.2 is great (also partial to a corner). Bridge one is disorientating in a good way. Reminds me of the Birkenhead docks.

Great spot with the primary colours in the last one. Thatā€™s my fave.

  • Showing one cropped just to see the resolutionā€¦ otherwise as-shot.

Been so so long since I did any street photos. I stopped around the time I sold all my film cameras. Digital has never struck me as ā€˜the sameā€™.

Loved shooting Leica/rangefinder. Fast, manual focus, pot luck. Digital failed to show any character, or focus fast enough, or give satisfactory manual focus. Big bulky lenses etc etc.

Iā€™d put the 16/2.8 pancake on a Nex3N in the hope it would do the things, but didnā€™t get on that well with it. Not bad, just not right for me.

Recently resurrected the camera. Bought the 7Artisans ā€˜biscuitā€™ toy lens fixed aperture but focus ring with no focus marks.

Out and about in Oxford today. Baby-outfit was Swindon beforehand.

Cropped image shows what I wanted ā€¦full size shows Iā€™m too used to 35-50mm on film and not 28mm.

Really like this toy lens. The low resolution has a very film-like effect. Awful magenta fringing and vignette are Lomo as hell.

  • Sounds like a fun setup. Love the baby suit on a sign.

  • Speaking of signsā€¦
Black pro mist arrived, stuck it on the X100 and enjoying it more than last time I tried one. It has crazy reflections which is super annoying (usually run a fancy protective filter which doesnā€™t have this issue) but the subtle halation is nice.

  • Definitely a not-serious setup. I have a 35/0.95 on the way from the faraway land, which I'll be throwing on the A6000.

  • I also switched to digital a couple of weeks ago and have been feeling something similar... I converted a lens from a cheap film p&s I like but it's way too shit on a digital sensor.
That lens you got looks nice, good shots with it

  • Yea I think if you can manage to find a focus point then it has an acceptable resolution. Certainly not an easy lens to exploit the best, but easy enough to use like a disposable camera.

  • Thanks! Really enjoying your photos also. The last one is my favourite too, had high hopes for a better bridge photo but no joy. Hoping to explore the other side of the river on my next child-free day for some better angles.

  • Got up early and went to check out a few spots Iā€™ve been meaning to visit.

  • ^ these are great.
    Very familiar @aglet

  • Very nice, love this edgeland type stuff.

  • Cheers, theyā€™re fun places to wonder around in at 7am on a Sunday if youā€™re into that type of thing. Certainly not pedestrian friendly so my strategy has been to chuck a Brompton in the boot and park near by and basically just ride around.

  • @Velocio thereā€™s definitely a loss in saturation when posting images here. It might be from uploading rather than embedding from Flickr etc but looking side by side the yellow in ā€œTonyā€™sā€ sign is much less vivid than the original.

  • Finally getting around to editing some stuff from summer, ironically around the solstice. These are all from Sweden. Caught an unusual cloud/rainbow thing.

  • i found that images seem about 1/2 a stop darker on here

  • Yeah, I get that too. Makes my images look even gloomier than usual. Am not a fan of boosting saturation either, Ć  la that Josh Edgoose fella, where everything looks a bit Disneyfied. Also I live in Scotland so..

  • All of these are bangers.

1 and 2 are my fave

  • Couple of other Darks.
