The light doesn't look normal for the late afternoon, the dark sky gives impression of am impending rain storm. Which I like.

Cheers - there was a bank of grey cloud to the east and south, hanging over the Chiltern, and the sunlight made things stand out against that slate background

The second photo reminds me of an anime film where a giant is coming closer.

Crazy moon tonight, only spotted it by chance

Where did you look first?

Was busy watching the sunset which was 180 degrees to the moon, so had been stood facing the other way the 15 minutes, expect it looked even bigger when it first popped over the horizon
