  • Park just offered me £350 off an Xpro 2 body if I trade my Xpro 1 body in- which is more than I paid for it. Worth doing?

  • ^ the processor in the xpro2 is very nice indeed and the handling is better and the focusing faster. It's a meaningful improvement. But whether it's worth the cash to you, only you can say...

  • Having a bit of a nightmare juggling work and a newborn - anyone a dab hand on photoshop and want to earn some money today/tomorrow?

I have a set of about 30-40 images of food we shot as a test for a potential new client - just shot in-house, not very well. Need them retouched and looking as pretty as they can feasibly look before Monday. All top down. A couple of them have a hand reaching in and interacting with the food so will need the hand prettying etc.

Have dollar. Feel free to share if anyone might know anyone. Will try PPH etc but checking here first.

    cc @spotter , @chrisbmx116 etc

  • @CYOA

Are they just JPEGs? I don't think I've got much on tomorrow, and will gladly have a go if you want?

Very much non-professional though (having never edited commercially, just for my own entertainment), so wouldn't want any money for it, as I'd just do it for fun with no guarantee it'd necessarily be what you want! :)

    PM me if you fancy.

  • failing to come up with competition pics. i like these images though.

It's the better, faster auto-focus that would motivate me to upgrade.

  • You notice it most with the newer lenses tbh, but it's massively better.

I've only got two lenses - the 35mm F1.4 and the 56mm F1.2, the Xpro-1 seems to have more issues with the latter, but with both I have to switch to manual focus in lower light conditions.

  • The one on the tube is spot on.

  • That underground one is sweet, I actually went "ohh wow" when I saw that...

Maybe make it perfectly symmetrical and that would be killer

  • I can see you're central in the carriage its just that one pole nearest to you in the middle of the image that throws it off balance a bit, if it was a bit to the right it would be spot on.

they really should have considered this when they designed the train

  • I think those lenses are the ones where you'll see the least improvement, as they both involve moving a lot of heavy glass around. Of the first gen lenses, with the 18mm it's pretty snappy, but still hunts back and forward a bit. The motors in the new f2 lenses seem to lock on much more quickly and surely, for some reason, and my 16mm focuses fine - but it's a super wide, so it's not so much of a challenge.

Edit to add - it does lock on, though, just not as quickly as with the new lenses. Using back button focus helps a bit as well.

  • Hmm. I think, if it comes to spending money on photography stuff then I'd prefer to get the bright zoom rather than a new body in that case.
