I was mentally noting down numbers of drivers doing this last night.
Good to know you can actually report it.
Cheers for that... -

And Boris has now come out and said that cyclists will be able to turn left at red lights and all these people are coming out saying that pedestrians are going to be maimed and killed by cyclists. I mean what the fuck are these people on? When was the last time a fucking pedestrian was killed by a cyclist? Christ I hate these bastards.
On 21 February in NW1.

Bookmarked, though I think I will have to spend the best part of an hour everyday filling it out

I don't understand why there aren't plain-clothes police around fining drivers for using mobile phones. I probably see more people using phones on my commute than I do cyclists jumping reds. If it's money and stats they need then how about doing something that'll make the roads safer? I don't get it.
THIS!
You would not believe the amount of bastards I see using their fucking phones when commuting to work, makes me fucking sick. Why the do we bring in these laws if we cannot fucking police them. Sorry I just get really frustrated, almost had one drive into me the other day on the phone and I was in the middle of the road!
The police could catch hundreds if not thousands of drivers every morning/evening using their phones would make more money and make figures look better. Don't fine us for cycling on the path just because we want to feel safer, fine the bastard who almost hit us off on the phone.

Someone died, stuff the permissions. Fair question though. Hackney doesn't seem to remove much them as far as I can tell. There's been a ghost bike chained up at the Stamford hill/Manor road intersection for as long as i can remember.
I paid my respects on the spot last night before settling into the pub. So sad.

To be fair, the cyclist from what I gathered attempted to over take the lorry on the outside and within the blind spot of the driver. The driver was in tears and very shaken up.
Though I believe HGV'S are monsterous things, we also need to address the sheer lack of education that new cyclists have. Of the accidents I attend involving cyclists i'd say 70% of them are because the cyclist has been in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Clarence, it's too early to jump to conclusions, even if you mean 'inside'. Let the facts come out first before speculating.

@Alien. Don't suppose you know if they have bike parking? Would be pretty funny if they don't.
For everyone else's info, yes they did. a dedicated side yard for bikes and a side entrance to the building.
Lovely building and nice food/drink! :)

Very sad news, this is my on my daily route but I long since decided to take the scenic bypass through the park rather than brave Victoria Park Road. I guess the poor cyclist must have been coming out of Lauriston Road but I've always had doubts about the way the VPR entry onto the roundabout is two lanes. I've seen some mad drivers try to cut up the traffic on the outside, that's another accident waiting to happen
RIP

Seriously,
why doesn't the "law" say the phones will be confiscated and wiped, sim card destroyed.
Such such sad news.
I got aggressively swerved at this morning by a maniac in an orange and blue skip lorry, suffering from a woeful lacking in the nether regions I'm guessing.
Came out of the blue really, as I'd popped my head up to make eye contact... Nothing provocative. Gave me quite a shock, specially given the last couple of days.
Just isn't fair.
rip.

just heard about this, terrible news, my thoughts are with the families of both the cyclists who have died through road accidents in the last few days. We need to watch out for our fellow cyclists out there. Whenever I notice someone getting into a dangerous position around HGVs, especially at traffic lights I always shout out and try and tell the cyclist of the dangers. Please everyone try and watch out for each other and yourselves. Stay safe. x

I've got this 'out there' theory that perhaps there are too many lorries on London's roads, and that maybe they're often driven irresponsibly, and that they're perhaps involved in ridiculous projects funded by taxpayers that ultimately have a negative impact on local communities, and that it's possible some authorities don't give a fuck about cyclists and pedestrians, and and and AAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
you are exactly right.

The name of the girl who died is Shiv Watson. I did not know her personally but just found out she was going out with an old friend from home.
She was a successful musician and clothes designer, had performed around the country, and with acts such as drum and bass producer Roni Size. She had also been shortlisted for the Gaymers Emerging Talent Award, with the chance to perform at this year's Camden Crawl festival.
RIP Shiv!

I was one of the paramedics on the scene, and the positioning kinda made it sadly obvious what had happened.
So so sad.
Yeah i saw that, cycled through wondering why they were all being pulled into the bus lane, they also do it around the christmas season in the morning for those who have been drinking too much the night before.
cheap shots!
