Stoats
lets face it, they both look a bit nasty.

When we were in Brighton a few weeks ago there was a stuffed stoat in an antiques shop. It had a bow tie on and a sign saying "simples". WAC.

Aaah. I was right then - intellectual ineptitude on my part.

Carrrera virtuoso was the first real bike bike I had, I bought it when I was 14 (hence the 03) and it's still an ok winter training bike. Took me from Cambridge to Valencia and back, but all you internet 'all talk no action insult everyone that you think is wrong and generally be a prick' types probably haven't done it.

We were all painting our bikes, because we learned how to do it before the inception of teh interwez.
It really isn't difficult, now play nice and lose the attitude.

I hadn't placed you as that old, tbh.
How on earth are you the number three road racer in Europe? Under which category?
Also, you have the wrong end of the sprocket about this forum, we do talk a lot of bollox, but we ride together, race together, and (most importantly) drink together. We don't often strip down old road bikes to turn into sweet fixies then paint them with glorified nail varnish, but it does happen sometimes. And the search will probably show that.

Nhatt, there's no need to be civil with the prick, let's just all insult him then he can laugh at us when he's the number one road road racer in Europe.

And you were 14 in 2003 ? Bloody hell, I was more mature than that at 12.

Age on your profile says 15, 14 in 03 would make you bit older now, non?

Maybe he's referring to the model he brought (an 03 version), rather than the year of purchase?

i am currently painting my old raleigh frame and what i did was hacksaw all the redundant gear and brake cable housing parts off and then file them down so they are smooth, then i got it shotblasted and powdercoated and after that primer, painted and lacquered it. :o)

you said your building your first fixie. is it easier to build one or to get a whole complete one (second-hand) and tinker with it?
-
• #73
Building one will be more rewarding but take longer than buying an OTP. And if done properly will be much much cheaper
-
• #74
true, but i really want one soon, i rode my brother and loved it.
