John, I was going to come on the ride but there was a little voice inside of me. The little voice was a memory of you talking to me at Gatwick during my easter rain run to the sun (clouds). Something like "man what's the point, these rides are social and enjoyable and everone is miserable..."
I stayed in and watched "the Transporter" on the telly box. Was an hour and a half of my life wasted.
Well done for those that attended, bailed or finished. Valiant effort. You are not heros though, it was only rain

Record breaking ride: Least ever attended, faster ever completion time.
3 of us finished at Kew and rode back into the city together.
We got wet.
I woke up at 7AM on Thursday morning, I am now going to sleep. Goodnight. No it wasn't. Bridges II only had VB and I. Took 1:15 I think. Nyer! :P

This shiiiit weather thing is turning into Groundhog Day. I'm sure last year we had good weather in April, then April showers in May, and then summer didn't materialise until the odd day or two in October. Is it global warming? I blame Gordon Brown (or whoever is running the country)

It's the immigrants. Always the immigrants..

owen, the spirit was quite good actually, but it really was raining so that the traffic seemed mad.
i'm proud of you guys to hear you really finished it after i bailed out at battersea. i thought about the miles home.
@vélo liblre: i think last night there where the most twitchy drivers on the loose - ever! - on my way home. two attempts, one had me shaking after turning into me from the oncoming lane without indicating or any other hint whatsoever. i swerved to the right onto the pave and into a chicken place. happily no damage, not even a scratch but 10 years of from my life span. driver didn't see me due to his fogged up windows. ffs!
things i learned: a forum rider's spirit does not hang on the weather and might surprise you.
a hope vision1 is not enough when it pours down.
i need sealskin socks.it was just one of THESE nights.

...Yeah true, but if your name is on the OP..
Calendar and life are too rammed at the moment to postpone so the ride just had to get rode.
I had a blast, albeit a soggy one.
The tenth is going to be epic.

Like I wrote before, I couldn't make it anyway, because I was on my own with the toddler.
To be honest, if I was free I'd think twice. The last time I rode in a bad weather at night I was hit by a car turning left which didn't stop for a cycling lane's crossing.
I had two punctures and messed up my rim with a piece of glass stuck in the brake pad.Really don't know how you made it brakeless.

Yeah but considering whenever you go out riding the Police need to be informed so that they can close roads to oncoming traffic I think my summary is technically correct.

I think you should get your keyboard fixed, it seems to have some problem with the exclamation mark key.
Anyway, John, for the 10th one, I assume it will be West to East... What about an organised East to West preride for that, I need to go that way anyway, so might as well make it more fun and do two bridges rides in one day. You could always go on the opposites sides of the river, so that it's not the same in reverse...

No.
There will probably people going down for you to join with, this is the easiest way from central:
http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=3693043The format, time and route are going to be different next time around.

A pair of knog frogs isn't enough under any circumstance. My geckos have gone missing though :-(
What were your lights? Your back light is seriously bright. way too bright really - it was all but blinding me whenever I was behind you. I want lights that bright for dunwich. might mount them a bit lower though :-)
It was enjoyable while it lasted, but the realisation that it was not going to get drier, coupled with a puncture at almost the exact moment I caught up with you at waterloo got me thinking it's going to stop being fun fairly soon.

Fair enough. I look forward to see how you can make a bridges ride different.

We're going under them. Pedalos baby!
Shit, so annoyed I couldn't make it, sounds like it was a blast.
