Great ride out. Home totally piss wet through. But what a great start to a sunday morning.
Well done everyone.

Think its fair to say 2 bottles of wine and 2 hours sleep was sub-optimal preperation for what was a great ride! Aside from the aforementioned jobsworths couldn't have been better. Same time enxt year!?

I won! :D
S'all about the bartape.
Great ride.
Great to see so many people.
Immensely satisfying watching it now...
Smug, but inspired.2.03 is a scary fast world record run time : O

Yeah, the front group today did it in 1:30, it's scary to think someone can run that in only 30 minutes more.

I won! :D
I got the points race!

Just got home too.
Amazing ride, and perfect timing with the rain.
Best bit of the ride: A policeman directing us the wrong way down a tunnel saying "go that way, just watch out for oncoming traffic" ;)
yea and there was NO oncoming traffic so he knew what he was doing:)
Brilliant ride... shame the rain came just as the picnic hampers were coming out. (Brian the gibbon... did anyone get any of your flapjacks?)

Agreed, he didn't have to do that but he did - good cop.
I think I saw as sign saying 600 metres to go where we had to turn around due to resistance to us all getting to the finish. Excellent ride regardless!

Great ride, didn't realise east Londoners were so slow tho'... ;P
Our small band of Southies didn't manage to find a pub that was open... FAIL! -
• #564
ace ride. good pace. loved it. thanks gerald. i know it probably got a bit stressy with 300 fixie skidderz.
-
• #565
That was great fun, despite the route being a bit elusive. Classic mistake of assuming 'someone' will know where they're going.
Just watching on telly now, keeping an eye out for any fixie skidders still hopelessly lost.

So much fun, surprised how quick the pace was! Bit pissed off that the rozzers turned us round at the 400m mark. My housemate was grinning from ear to ear when he finished!
Found a cafe, got a coffee and toast, pottled back home only to get a puncture on Hackney Rd. Typical.Same again next year?

Great ride & good turnout, although due to getting rather lost around Canary Wharf I got caught out by the rain at the end.
Typical that I got a puncture, but at least it was right outside my front door!
GPS trace showing just how lost I got here:

Compare with the official route:

Had a rather officious copper tell us we'd be arrested if we went along Tower Hill, so we just went under Fenchurch St and tried to rejoin it further along. A race official said there were wheelchair folk on the course and to be careful so we just went along parallel roads all the way up to the Strand. Rejoined at the Mall, and got to the 200m marker before the cadets told us we couldn't go any further.

Unlikely anyone recorded it but the whole roll-out from the roundabout in Greenwich was broadcast live on BBC Breakfast news who cut to their live OB just as we left so my wife was able to spot me just like a proper marathon :)

• #570
Good shit guys! How many riders were there roughly?
-
• #571
Top ride, our group must have done 3-4 extra miles by going the wrong direction couple of times. It was good to see all the old and new faces. Best bit was a cop at a traffic light rang the siren and pretend to bother about us jumping light.
Finally home but almost fell asleep riding in Vicky Park....

Take the list and double it I think. Fucking big number at the start and loads more seemed to join at Surrey Quays.
-
• #573
250?!?
-
• #574
Fucking brilliant ride.
Big up the breakaway fast group. Pleasure riding with you all. So good to make it round the whole course and over the finish line.
Good navigation skills David and well done on the points race!

Easily 200 I'd say, if not more. We arrived just in time to roll out from Greenwich, ridiculous number of bikes!
Just got home too.
