Man flu?
anyone brings this dreaded disease to the evening - and i catch it - will be shot.

I prefer the term "non-traditional finish".
Like white satin paint?

All over the decorator's radio.

^that's the one.
I'm just going to turn up and get on with eating. I'm not being rude/any more rude than usual. 'Rude' in the sense of impolite, rather than strained euphemisms.

Unnecessarily auto-aggressive. :)

Fuck it. Anyone got a lock? Rolling by in ten minutes, if I don't catch anyone I'm going to go home and wallow in (potential) illness.
-
• #5908
All I really got from Texas's post was a vague message along the lines of "come... shot". [/still not sorry]

Great ride tonight, but not so sure about the buskers at the station.

another beautiful and pointless night ends.
massive props to the award winners. fantastic choices by the lovely randomness of the pm vote.
special thanks to clintsmoker for being the one we can pretend we could do all this shit without. and to scarlett for reminding us of that and for generally being the massive engine behind so many, like nearly of the rides this season.
lots of great riders out there. the bar is raised. no doubt it will be raised again next season.
cheers all.
ps. mashton, real sorry about your bike dude. it sucks. there is nothing else to say about it
pps. hope you are all home safe

^despite the failure to use capitals, you get massive rep for not writing "P.S." and "P.P.S."

Good luck! Hope you managed to find Shepherdess Walk all right and got a good report in. I fear it won't have been their first one tonight. :(

brilliant evening, sorry for bailing early. no punctures or mechanicals, just needed to get the train. which we missed by a minute. it being a tuesday night, rather than flapping and shouting, we calmly made alternative plans. i rode home.
thanks for a great season. here's to next year.
Mashton: really shitty news.

What happened to Matts bike?
Apologies for my non attendance. I trust you all had a cracking night.

cheers all. nice ride, thanks to those that organised and those that rode.
2011 is looking fine...

Was a hugely enjoyable night. ...Tika pogoing to free-form jazz; Mike Wools' Ibetha-style 'saxafoam' party; Cynthia's tuna and plantain bagel.
I've had a tangential relationship with TNRC this year but it has still been a real pleasure; thanks to all involved.
Gutted for Mashton that he had his Condor stolen.

take locks for sure will. there is no such thing as a safe place to leave a bike and this area is amongst the worst. should be enough smokers to help with keeping an eye out
Jonny is wise beyond his (indeterminate) years.
Yeah, it was a great do, but marred for me obviously.
My Condor Classico got robbed, by scrotes twisting the parking sign off the top of the a post and then lifting my steed up and over. Two d-locks (Krypto mini + Abus Granite Mini) won't prevent that.
I feel stupid for locking it there, but mostly annoyed.
Oliver, Jaygee, Jonny, Tim etc, thanks for the advice and help. I found Shepherdess Walk and got a report in. Will contact the Hackney cycle crime task force today.
All eyes are on ebay, gumtree and brick lane, obviously.

poop luck mashy, but it was good to see ya, and the rest of you too... just remembered this (might cheer you up)

Huge fun like all the other TNRC Tuesdays, roll on the 2011 rides.
Really sorry to hear about your bike Mashton, probably naively I've never even thought about thieves removing the sign at the top of a post to get at a bike. Hope gumtree or insurance comes up trumps.

@shinscar - I mentioned the same actor to Faith, probably for the same reason :D
@mashton - bad luck (not that you'll be needing a bike for a while). Hope it turns up soon.
Now that it's all done and dusted, I just want to thank jonny and clintsmoker for conceiving the TNRC, and continuing to manage it with such panache (…and for dinner).
From the first freezing temp recce of the Whitedown route back in March to the extended puncture workshop of the de luxe, it's been an amazing year. I didn't regret my decision to go with the TNRC over other weekday options, and enjoyed the chance to regain my road legs. My biggest rushes were assorted breakaways on rolling terrain with the likes of Texas, jaygee, claus, JAMIE, etc, but I had some very pleasant evenings sweeping up at the back too.
It was also very rewarding seeing new riders attracted by the shorter/closer to town routes that I cooked up (after approval/recce by the indeterminate elders). Hopefully we'll continue to see new faces next year, and this year's new faces can enjoy being slightly older faces. We will probably be doing leader & backstop shadowing next season, so get ready to volunteer when Spring comes around.
Despite my constant bitching, I think the TNRC is one of the things Velocio has on his list of 'reasons why lfgss is fucking awesome'. Long may it continue (especially because I pushed the boat out on a new light).
C U Next Tuesday(NRC)…
I prefer the term "non-traditional finish".
