Tuesday Night Ride Club (TNRC)

I just got damn wet on the way to work, but unlike the fannys above I will still be riding this evening.

sean/gav - will make sure you have sam's number so the rendesvous at 7oaks will run smoothly. it will anyway, he will no doubt be waiting just beyond the ticket barrier.

Kent 2 -- Tuesday 30th march 2010 - Otford

Route is from 2009. medium difficulty with a few good hills to climb but nothing too bad. Ends with a total speed fest along some very narrow lanes. most enjoyable.
Same rules apply as ever. Don't be a hindrance to mankind or anyone on the TNRC by turning up unprepared. VERY GOOD lights, map, spares and the group safety as priority number one.

figured the route I know will be 40 miles to Otford so I decided to take the geared bike...
when are the trains arriving? Need to work out what time to leave now...

I'm wobbling......went to a wedding in Plymouth on Sunday and still haven't recovered, plus I'm about to move house and my housemate wants one last night of beers and football before I leave.
I'll have a big lunch and see if it helps

Which bridge are you crossing Gina? I don't fancy waiting at work till 7ish so might join at the southside of the bridge.

If Charing Crossers keep packing then the folks left can all dive into the first train and spread out a bit.

Will need to know for sure in advance, so I can adjust my MO when it comes to locking up the library.

By the way, I have to start work at 5am tomorrow (as well as starting at 5am today) so when we enter Ightham (Martin's favourite descent) I am following the road straight on and heading the 6 and a bit miles home. If I just miss a train at Otford I'll have to wait an hour for the next one, meaning I might possibly not get home until gone midnight.

I'll make sure I'm backstop at that point so no-one gets confused and follows me.

i've just got back from exmouth. standing looking at the computer makes me think i'm still on a boat.
i've got until 5.30 to make a decision on leaving the house.

i'm contemplating bailing. is that allowed? will i be ridiculed? barred from future tnrcs? generally thought ill of forever more?
i'd be letting you down, i'd be letting myself down, blah blah, but i'd also be sat in a pub in the warm and dry. tempting, no?

I think bailing is part of many TNRCers portfolios, but particularly mashton's.

I shall do two hours on the turbo as penance.

I'm considering bailing too. I don't want to die. But I also want to ride. Torn!

I am bailing, just cycled back from work and it was pretty grim, felt like it was back in winter.

What's going on here? Dropping like flies.

You should pity those of us who would relish a spin round the lanes in such fine weather but have barely adequate excuses, er, I mean legitimate reasons preventing us.

(that was remarkably easy to type while sat in a nice warm office, have a good ride those that brave it, see you all in a fortnight.)

The SKHA committee are considering convening later this week.
