  • ^ That's a good bunch, guarenteed it'll be pacey

  • Fair enough but maybe not brakeless hey? I've only got my
Road bike ATM (think I might buy a burls though after seeing james')

  • Apparently it's quite a flat route so may be OK brakeless, dunno....?

  • Oops that's MDGLondon even.

  • Can any TNRCers recomend a gear for climbing Exedown? I was thinking 63".

  • ^ have done it on 70 a couple of times sean, but am glad i have geared down to 67. my indeterminate aged legs are starting to feel it

you will have no problems on 63 but might find you are spinning a hell of a lot on the downhills

  • "Bueuuulleeeerrrrr. Anyone, anyone....?"

Now then Graham... I think this is completely capable as a ride that can be done on a bike that has no brakes.
How many gear inches will you be on though ?
Can they be raised or lowered ?
    Anyone ?
    Anyone ?

  • 48 x 18

Just concerned about the unknown(to me) descents in the dark more than anything

  • while I don't doubt you can do it brakeless you got to think dark, unfamiliar roads, group riding. Quite a few variables you can't control.

  • I'll probably be up the front with my demoniacally bright rifle scope though...

  • while I don't doubt you can do it brakeless you got to think dark, unfamiliar roads, group riding. Quite a few variables you can't control.

My thoughts exactly. Gears it is then

  • I'll probably be up the front with my demoniacally bright rifle scope though...

We tend to dissuade people from riding up the front on routes they're not familiar with - and by familiar, I mean confident enough to shepherd the group in the right direction.

Best ride next to Pistanator, and afford him some skidding glow.

  • iPhone taped to top tube = garmin 705.

  • Garmin = proven to be less reliable than 'neural Garmin'. Repeatedly.

    Get back in line :p

  • Tim, can you do the usual train dichotomy thing?

Who's going to sort out my groupsave4 on train 2…?

  • ^ have done it on 70 a couple of times sean, but am glad i have geared down to 67. my indeterminate aged legs are starting to feel it

Thanks J, but the event I had in mind has apparently now been cancelled.

  • might bring the gears out tomorrow. the Chesini is tired after saturday - the saddle is fucked.

or i persuade graham to do it brakless and bring the Felt out for the night. if so, will be backstop.

actually, will be in backstop duty either way.

can i reiterate what BMMF said about being on the front. you cannot be on the front on this ride unless you know the route. simple as that really.
