-
• #4686
^ have done it on 70 a couple of times sean, but am glad i have geared down to 67. my indeterminate aged legs are starting to feel it
you will have no problems on 63 but might find you are spinning a hell of a lot on the downhills

"Bueuuulleeeerrrrr. Anyone, anyone....?"
Now then Graham... I think this is completely capable as a ride that can be done on a bike that has no brakes.
How many gear inches will you be on though ?
Can they be raised or lowered ?
Anyone ?
Anyone ? -
• #4691
48 x 18
Just concerned about the unknown(to me) descents in the dark more than anything
-
• #4692
while I don't doubt you can do it brakeless you got to think dark, unfamiliar roads, group riding. Quite a few variables you can't control.
-
• #4693
I'll probably be up the front with my demoniacally bright rifle scope though...

My thoughts exactly. Gears it is then

We tend to dissuade people from riding up the front on routes they're not familiar with - and by familiar, I mean confident enough to shepherd the group in the right direction.
Best ride next to Pistanator, and afford him some skidding glow.

Garmin = proven to be less reliable than 'neural Garmin'. Repeatedly.
Get back in line :p

Tim, can you do the usual train dichotomy thing?
Who's going to sort out my groupsave4 on train 2…?

Thanks J, but the event I had in mind has apparently now been cancelled.

might bring the gears out tomorrow. the Chesini is tired after saturday - the saddle is fucked.
or i persuade graham to do it brakless and bring the Felt out for the night. if so, will be backstop.
actually, will be in backstop duty either way.
can i reiterate what BMMF said about being on the front. you cannot be on the front on this ride unless you know the route. simple as that really.
