graham doesn't know where i live. i'll be ok.

    Er?

  • Ian, you'll be fine for this.

Also, you're Southgate aren't you? So if it all goes horribly wrong it's not that far getting home from Potters Bar.

Actually, just got back from doing this ride (in daylight). It's many years since I rode these country lanes. Very pleasant it was too. Unfortunately I got sharp stabbing pains in my left knee about half way through, though the pain subsided a bit after a while. Limped home - careflull not to cadence brake.

So at least if said knee gives me jip on Tuesday, I'm not far from home!

Riding my track bike in hill climbing mode, so it won't be a comfortable ride.

  • I'd like to meet up with the ride outers from a mutually convenient rendez-vous, please.

  • @ benjam - would be great to see you out there but please make sure you have the right lights. Can anyone help out here?

@ everyone - lights, maps, phones, tubes, common sense road riding etc etc.

looking forward to this . will split the trains later. if you are riding out annotate the list to make it easier for me. thanks

  • Hyde Park Corner works for me. Anyone know the route from there? We used James' Garmin last time we met there...

  • i did have something easy planned, but the garminator led us there. i think it's fairly easy, just head north. but stop before you get to birmingham.

  • The Garmin A1000?

  • It is easy.

Just head up the A41 Finchley Road to Hampstead, then bear right on the A598 (still the Finchley Road), through Finchley then carry on as it turns into the A1000. Follow that all the way to Potters Bar.

Using that route earlier in the summer took me just over an hour (no RLJing).

  • Not going to Hyde Park Corner. Will meet people en route if they're going the Holloway Rd/Archway Rd/East Finchley/Barnet etc route.

  • no one with a light to lend? i just moved house this week and had to buy a fuckload of furniture, bit poor till end of the month but would love to go.

  • @BMMF - I could meet you in Pond Square at the top of Swains for the ride out.

  • @ bmmf Might ride out; any idea when you will be Archway Road/Southwood lane?

  • Where are you based, Benjam? I can't make the ride, but I could loan a light.

I'm based between Kings Cross & Old Street, and in fact I'll prolly be around Swains' as of about 7:00pm tomorrow. If you can sort a collection then you've got yourself illumination.

  • cheers friday, I'm in battersea but I'll be going into kings x for rail in and out... sure we can sort something out :)
