  • Knee is feeling good - bit of a risk though!? :-/

J / T - do you have a route mapped, or notes that i can pinch off you?

tweaking it now to avoid a hill that i won't be thanked for at 7 in the morning.

and double checking a couple of things - if you are riding with us sam you won't need to worry about the route.

  • i am taking my mini-D but understand not everyone can take a lock.

  • this is gonna be a chilled out ride. super chilled.

  • Can my bike go with someones elses lock? I will bring a cable to secure wheels.

  • this is gonna be a chilled out ride. super chilled.

Translation: no zooming straight off the train at 22mph, please.

  • ^Yes; as the Garmin is where it belongs. In a bag with the spare tube.

  • jonny - what time do you wan to go down to victoria? stopping by at weld works for a cup of tea before hand?
ludwig - you are welcome to share my lock but i have QR on both wheels so will be pushed to do two bikes unles yours is just frame.

  • jonny pm me map as soon as so i can print it or familiarise myself with towns etc

  • Translation: no zooming straight off the train at 22mph, please.

Come on Scarlett, you love it when we do that. After the first 2 minutes of grumbling, that is.

  • i don't think that i will be able to ever go at 22mph :)
I am taking the fixed, I think

    and we love Scarlett

will head straight there dude but will ring you after work anyway. pm'ing route to you now dude.

Thank you. Frame is just fine.

  • have pm'd dude.

ludwig - you still want the route. or would you simply not prefer a nice relaxing ride not wondering when the garmin gremlins will pour water.

  • i hit 33mph on 48x19 on the reccie.

we will be averaging less than half that for the total of the route tonight.

  • i am bringing no arm or leg warmers. and wearing shades the whole way.

  • No. Yes. It is in the bag with the spare tube.

  • i am bringing no arm or leg warmers. and wearing shades the whole way.

If this were the meme thread and if I had inclination and photoshop, I would do one of those "Deal with it" shades animations on a still of Jonny from the GHBAGDIUOADGJ bikesnob.nyc-quoted video.

    Please use your imaginations.

  • ...so we are going to the Spa at the end, sweet.

Tikita, I rode it recently fixed (45x16), and is more than fine, also since we are avoiding the 'killer' hill this time. Just make sure you bring drinks & food with you as it won't be much open, maybe just one 24h station.

It is an unbeatable route, I say.

I'm grumbling because in a 70" gear, anything less than 24mph is unnecessary grinding, except on gradients steeper than 10%.

Is anyone planning to ride the majority of the route no-handed?

  • Andyp == Legend.

  • That felt a bit like finding out that Santa Claus is just a normal human.

    Oh well. Knowledge is power.

  • des - did you get outward tickets as well for tonight?

  • Hey guys, I'm in Bath at the moment and if you need support/pick up for bonk victims/inner tube delivery/food/locks or advice for places to eat at the end, don't hesitate to call! Totally willing to meet you with lucozade and sarnies if no-where is open.

The Spa is pretty high-class, lots of yummy mummys taking their daughters for days out, so expect some sneering if you're caked in mud and exhaustion. On the other hand, it's fucking awesome in there. Enjoy!

    PM me or my number

I wish I'da heard about this earlier, I would have met you at the train station and ridden back in.
