Yeah tonight was good. The gravel didn't seem too bad on the way back.
Despite loosing a rear light bracket and my phone i had a really good time and was definitely worth it. Time for bed and pastry dreams.
TNRC virgin will deff be up for some more action.

a wonderful return to that awesome Kent 1 route. cheers sam for bestowing the TNRC with this one. talking to will on the train on the way back we were discussing the fact this could be the best of all routes. well that debate for another day.
really loved out there tonight. a couple of notable debuts:
- shinscar. nice one dude. sorry about your blackberry but glad about your cherry. really enjoyed sitting in the drops rolling, feathering the brakes. safe.
- wvm, good to meet you dude, and hope to catch ya again.
- and jaygee's new roberts. simply stunning dude. i hope that gravelly section was not too unkind to it.
scarlett, cheers for owning bower lane and then being the backstop supremo. tom, good work dude on that massive gear. take it easy til sunday but all the best for that.
nancy a little bird told me it was your birthday today, congrats. cheers for spending it out in the lanes.

proper good ride. that really is a top route. there is a section of road there that ranks amongst my favourite in the world. in the dark you can't see the slight gradient downhill so it makes you feel pretty special as you fly along for a good couple of miles cranking it to the max. top peleton out there tonight. Was great to see wvm and 6pt. Ray was awesome. so many great people out there making it what it is.
oh yeah and can't finish without mentioning the prize for no1 dad. it's all gravy.and thanks to Sam for leading and making the route up 12 months ago. always a pleasure to ride with you.
and thanks to scarlett for back stopping.
and jaygee and mash for the pint

That'll be the A20 into West Kingsdown. That was rather special :)
Thanks again for the warm welcome everyone.

Afraid it was, although I think the (newly touched up) gouges on my chainstay are from a bounced and trapped chain rather than gravel.
It is a proper road bike now, and I can stop being a tart.
It was a brilliant ride. I will need to do all the routes before I can make any judgments on it being Number 1.
Thanks to all for the good company.

That sucks. Someone must've been getting increasingly pissed off about all of us doing it (who fucking cares at 11.30pm?), and collared you for being the first one within reach.
I sort of feel like we should have a benevolent fund for shit like this. How much was the fine? £30?

cheers all for a quality evening ride. great roads, a few nice climbs, a good pace and a well timed puncture. tnrc at its finest.

Yep, lst night was brilliant.
A dubious, cold start peppered with gravel belied a lovely TNRC route and a nice strong group. Very few stops of more than a minute meant that the cold didn't quite seep into my bones and the pleasure (?) of hill climbing kept me really toasty.
Oddly, the dreaded ride back up that gravel covered hill was really rather fun although it did seem to cause a couple of punctures.
Nice to see some new and old faces and to have time to get in a cheeky pint in HH with Tim and JayG.
Bad luck to Ray for his phone and DJ for his fine. Doh.

Tom (6pt) I think you need a diffuser on your rear light, it damn near blinded me on one particularly hairy descent, down Botsom Lane, I think?

Same goes for shootthebreeze. If you can't mount it pointed towards your rear tyre, diffuse it.
Please.

Proper good ache this morning from going up those hills.
Awesome evening's riding. Thanks everyone.
And sorry to leave you near the finish. That's three TNRC's I've done this year, and on all three I've not completed the ride with the main bunch!
Hope the gravel wasn't too bad on the last leg.
