the downhill in discussion is probably one of the holmbury ones. it's actually the long gradual climb after the little short steep motha 'ucker on last years route...you'll recognise the fork in the road that people often get confused with..only this time i hope it doesn't throw too many spanners in the works

I'm like... doing this awareness drive man ...trying to make everyone take the initiative and be prepared and like it was me that took a broken light out on the recon.
heads up tomorrow folks ..looking forward to this..see the 19:09 crew at waterloo and the rest of you somewhere on route.

You forgot to advise people to watch out for badgers.

A 29 miler. 3 major climbs including the 18% whitedown.

bring a map, phone, money, spare tubes, spare batteries, a quality light, food, etc.
ride alongside someone who knows the route or at least knows how to get back to a train station if you get lost (phone reception is dodgy) if the hills split people apart wait at the top till we all gather.

the theory is that the second group will play catch up. when that happens we'll all wait at key points in the ride for everyone else. key points are 1) top of pitch hill 2) top of cold harbour/ holmbury 3) top of the widowmaker
