Really? I hope so, £675 seems along way away atm. £550 is quite doable. Can anybody shed some light on this??
-
• #3
Where did you hear they were coming down in price?
-
• #4
apparently they will be using 631 tubing for the whole frame as apposed to whatever they use now. 631 is still really good but not as good, so therefore cheaper.

just gonna put this out there.....
i know it might seem a little bit crazy.....but why not go into the shop and ask John/Andy/Ted? -

That sounds like rubbish, 853 has always been an additional extra (despite the photos always proudly displaying the 853 sticker).

the numbers don't mean anything to me, crazyjames told me about the possibilty of using different tubing, either way i won't have the money for one for a little while.

hey guys, just saying that there have always been two tubing options, oversize 631 and more expensive oversize 853. both are awesome, we've been beating the crap out of ours (631) no problem and tony fast is rocking the 853 over in 'merica
I appreciate that the possibility of a more affordable ESB is pretty exciting, and we may have something in the works, but of course everything must be tested and proven more than adequate, business stuff must happen, spots must get shralped and loads of other stuff before anything can be confirmed. It's an essential process in order to 14bikeco to supply the best possible service
all I can say is that the best way to keep up with all the news is either to visit us in store or to check the blog once in a while - I try and keep it relatively informative
thanks all for all the help and support!

-
• #12
I wish I was smaller

• #13
anyone know how long the headtube is??
-
• #14
by the way, i know its not on the website yet (it will be soon) but i preordered my "cheaper" esb about 2 weeks ago... pm me if you wanna know more details, i dont think i should be telling too many people just yet until its properly on the blog!

I've just ordered the esb frame n fork, looks sweet as hell. Looking forward to that steeper headtube and tighter back end......

so i was supposed to get a tig-welded esb frame and fork.. but 14 had some issues and didnt know when they would be ready.... so instead
they gave me the fillet brazed one for the same price!!!! im still waiting on the fork....... but im loving this frame.. filleting brazing is sooooo beautiful, and the paintjob is shit hot too
im so fucking stoked i dont have to ride a thrasher or a scissor... this is awesome
-
• #17
i dont see whats wrong with a thrasher or a scissor besides them being more common?
there both amazing framesets -
• #18
@swedee
Lovely frame!
-
• #21
its just sitting on my sofa :( i am only missing forks now, everything else is in the post
-
• #22
so your only criticism against the thrasher is that its common? i think thats pretty stupid but just my thoughts

Whats the toe clearance like on the latest ESB for hop bars? I know the Thrasher has addressed this issue with a longer top tube...

Not a chance, nope. You'll have to time those B-hop bars.
great frames! but i hear they are coming down in price? is this true to about £550?
anyone shed some light on this as im looking for a new strong frame and an esb would fill that gap quite nicely.. i would get a scissor, but i do like esbs that much more
