I'm in. First night ride, first time this kind of distance, bike with gears, probably not the right clothing. And no doubt slow, too.

But I'm in; a little bit scared, but really, really excited about this ride. And whatever happens, I absolutely promise not to fall asleep riding up a hill. Fact.

  • I'm sure the distance will be fine as long as you bring enough to eat.

In other news, I have eaten literally a kilo of chocolate today and may have to hitch-hike up ditchling.

  • ^ Ha, I'm half way through a bowl of chocolate pudding and 4 triple chocolate muffins.

    Not even a joke.

  • i dont think anyone doubts you max

  • Thanks for that Braker, is a good reminder about food. I probably wouldn't have brought enough, so am glad you pointed that out.

  • I am completely and utterly gutted I can't go on this--rain or no rain, it;s going to be a brilliant ride. So jealous! Have fun, all!

  • Then tread carefully through the market the next time you're seeking out an Artisan Wholemeal Ciabatta, Oliver.

  • Pffft, I was only after a seeded Levain. ;Þ

  • We shall feast atop the summit of Ditchling on sourdough, pumpernickel and rye in your honour.

  • Right i'll be doing this geared as i'm a fixed newbie. and my fixed bike is Shit. any advice on clothes to wear?

  • Wear whatever you're most comfortable cycling in.

I'll be wearing rolled up jeans, a t shirt and a windbreaker as I don't have any lycra or anything.

  • Booking advance train tickets for return journey now. PLEASE GOD do not piss it down tomorrow

  • Ah god. i love the max way of doing things. oh you heading there from west tomorrow?

  • Not sure yet, got loads on tomorrow!

  • Go to bed fuckheads, you've got some riding to do.

  • But Flash Gordon is on.

  • Bedtime or you won't get any hot milk.

  • Seeing as so many won't be there I may cycle down with you guys dependant on getting at least one of the two cars ready to race this weekend.

Or I may see you on the beech amazingly well dressed ,looking rough and having been (drinking) celebrating all night, post winning and getting engaged.

Or not show goes it all went wrong, and i'll be dressed like a tramp and dinking special brew. Take your pick. Oh and may have god daughters in tow.

  • non ti preoccupare Fiammetta, sei in buone mani.....

Con le mani si puo dire di si?

  • rolled up jeans

    Not a good idea. Srsly.

  • Wish I could joing you guys, sounds like mad fun
    Ride safe.

  • anyone going to be central before the set off time and want to go to a pub (i will be drinking coke...) may be down there with some time to kill.

  • Oh and may have god daughters in tow.

    dont let them meet max

  • How do you come back from Bristol? Is there also a plan :)
I am scared about the way home.. any experiences how i would feel after the ride?

  • we aren't going to bristol.

most people are getting the train i think. i am going home.
