I am happy to ref, but not more than an hour at a time, and not for more than 4 hours total during the weekend.

Still to have a few arguments about this amongst ourselves, but V similar to Karlsruhe, but maybe lose the ball jointing clause (that was never enforced) and perhaps add a clause about what happens when/if goals are moved/need resetting....
edit: actually, maybe just leave the goal thing to discretion actually... but bring it up with refs..

So halfcourt returns after a goal?
I understand, but still... tsk.
-
• #10
what about the sin bin they said they would introduce but didn't bother ever enforcing? handing over posession after a foul also? tbh the only thing karlsruhe did rules wise was the halfcourt.
-
• #11
oh... yeah i forgot about that... like a i said we still need to discuss... maybe pretty much just the Euros rules... but with netted goals... & with added goalie mallet abuse...
Decisions decisions....

personally i think a 'hooking, no hacking' rule should be enforced on mallet to mallet contact.
hooking is a skill, hacking is a bore.

hooking not hacking

No, but everyone modified their play to avoid the refs having to enforce it.

The halfcourt rule = encouraging tripod goalies.

i think i meant it was ambiguously worded, it inferred that if you ball jointed the ball at all, you could then not score with out first passing the ball....

Can you explain Bill? I thought they just dropped the rule after some complaints/confusion:
If ball is cupped up to goals, it has to be passed once before scoring.

If they did, they didn't tell me.

Just to clarify, the euro's written rules never disallowed goalie hassling. You just couldn't do it out of play, just like any other player.

One thing i want to make sure of for the UK champs is that the Reffing is consistent, i'd like to see if i can assemble a pool of refs to rotate during the 2 days of play, i know everyone will be focussed on their own games but i'd like to know who would be willing to ref games then perhaps we can have some sort of group meeting to discuss contentious issues before the tourney starts... please add you name to the thread if you are/will be willing to ref games at the UK Champs.
Thanks in advance
