  • nope, just burn 'im.

  • Not like you ever show up anyway...

I go when you're not there

  • Easier to get rid of the evidence too...

  • Am not sure what had happened last week but it was similar to going to funeral of the princess of dead people and someone had blurted out in a quiet bit " I always wanted to see if I could wipe the sly smile off Di's face by shoving my cock up her arse"

some people had been told the bar was closes yet others were being served drnks. It just flet like I had walked in during the middle of a couple arguing.

  • Right. I'm going to weigh in on this as one of the more frequent westie.

The Greyhound is nice but there are a few things going against it.

    1. (And Most Importantly) - It is keeping people away from Wests. This is meant to be a social get together and lots of people I used to enjoy hanging out with don't show up anymore. We need a more a diverse group of regulars.

    2. There needs to be some sort of public eye on Wests. I leave early now because staying late used to mean longer chats with more people - now it just means jaeger bombs and generally stupid amounts of alcohol consumption. So I leave early as that's not my scene.

Going to Wests used to be a treat for the other forum members - now it's Souths. Back to the days of the meat pit, polo players and 30+ people every week.

  • Anyone fancy a BBQ at the Ship?

  • i reckon its just cos it's wet and cold.
I haven't been for a while, I don't really care about the extended ride home, but after getting soaked I prefer to head straight back after a day in the British Library than to head to Wests which means more wetness and then getting home later and colder.

come summer no matter where it is more people will appear- as long as the pub has an outside.

  • but H, it was wet and cold last night and we had a big turn out at Souths last night.
and there was me thinking that everyone thought the Greyhound was the best pub evva, it was second only to the Coach in the forum awards for best pub last year - how the mighty have fallen.
I just hope Steve never sells the Coach!

  • shame the crabtree has changed hands

    i liked that place

  • I miss the Crabtree, good times.

That place was nice and holds fond memories as it was the first Wests that I attended. Miss the burger (decent) and pint deal as well ;p

Souths always feels on the way home- you know- I'm not really sure why, and i think that applies to lots of people other than me?
even though it is really not at all on the way home.

and the burgers are epic to the power of delicious radness

  • hmmm meat pit - i still lough about conie's quest to find his fries, he ordered with the wrap. he than discovered they have put them inside the wrap as well.

    best face ever!

i, too liked the goulasch and beer deal, it was just so amazingly out. way past my getting home radar. hope you'll find somming, or we SE's gonna lough about you guys this time ;)

  • I think since the owner came back and increased prices got rid of the meal deal and gave no concessions to my son when he held his birthday there left a bitter taste in my mouth. Maybe a mass exodus for a few weeks to show him that no pub is bigger then LFGSS beers, especially the GH which otherwise would be dead on a Thursday.

I do miss a pint with a portion of decent chips and a saveloy sat in the garden on a summers evening though ;p

  • how about we just tin it up on the grass between the dove and the HS bridge? its not to far from the special place and that bear baiting 1v1 polo pit

  • need someone to do a reccie on the new owner of the CTree.
see if he'll spin us a deal

    You volunteering?

    stupid question

  • Doesn't Steve of C&H fame also run a pub out wests now?

Isn't this the perfect opportunity to give him a call?

  • it still kinda south tho.......

  • West Beers is murtle's baby, he should decide where it moves to, if it moves at all, then tell everyone.

  • He gave that pub up... Didn't work out...

  • Maybe a temp move would be good for a few weeks, update the public thread and it might get Kuba worried and to improve things, or Murtle PM the GH explain the situation and see how it goes.

  • shame.. London's best landlord?

  • How about the Westbourne not too far from Royal Oak, no garden but has an outdoor seated area and nice people that work there http://www.thewestbourne.com/home.htm

  • nope
