I have picked my front door lock without having any specific knowledge of how to pick locks, also a few padlocks. Seems all the lower end standard stuff is dead easy.

I've done that too. When to B&Q, had a look at some locks and picked one.
Took it to the till and paid with my debit card. It was very easy. :-)
