I've been all over London to find that floating red stripe, but no luck so far.

Go along the canal - pretty sure you'll find some floating red stripes down there.

Sorry to post off topic- I've followed this for ages but only just registered to try to report an incident (today 17:55 Clerkenwell Road, idiot in black BMW cutting us up (almost definitely on purpose) to swerve into Leller's Valeting Centre- rider down but luckily seemed unhurt) and found myself in 'the nursery', so apologies this is an inappropriate place...
However- a tenuous link- I do remember someone on BTOB somehow being able to discern an indiscernable street sign from a tag, and was hoping they might be able to perform the same magic on the reg plate on this photo (and also advise on model of car)? Then I'll submit to here for whatever good that will do - https://secure.met.police.uk/roadsafelondon/ Thanks! (And fingers crossed the photo works, although 2 more posts and 22 hours to go anyway)
I can't make out the reg - V32 something I reckon, but that is an BMW 3 series (E46), wearing a set of wheels from a current M3 (E90). Their's isn't an M3, it's lower spec, and it's pre-facelift, which makes it earlier than 2002 model year

I would say the same, although it could just be "V32 KK.."

Anyway, could you get the police in. They could run the plate through their PNC database, even if it's only a partial plate. Model and reg should then come up together (unless it's ringed).

I quickly went through all the options for V32 KK+? last night with some online reg checker, only the odd Corsa and Focus came up. Moar Clues ;-)

Well done Stubbs! So if that's the plate, is it a personalised plate (because it's a 312 model), as otherwise it's illegal to insinuate a car is more recent (2012), than it actually is (it being pre-2002 if BQ is correct).

That's an old V-reg plate - if it were a 12-plate it would have two letters before the "12", not a letter and a number. Would fit the age (and there was no 312 model, it's down as a 328 Ci).

Putting our amateur sleuthing skills to good use, FTW.
Shame I can't use them for this tag though. All Through The Night has distracted me All Through The Day
a) Undertones? teenage kicks...
b) Humphrey Bogart? Film of the same name
c) Cyndi Lauper? (of Girls just wanna...) song of the same name
d) none of the above.I even found that Oscar Wilde (former inmate at Holloway) wrote a poem about a prison that includes the lines All Through The Night

I confess to not having clocked it as the Welsh centre - but did recognise the wonderfully art deco Trinity Court across the road from it.
Trinity Court / three caught???
As you were ;)
