good effort though^
I should point out that is definitely in a public space, and going back to that 'ship', technically there are two of them -

There's a certain building that's so big and bulky it seems like a cruise ship, that's probably where this picture is taken. I think.
But I have work to do tomorrow.

New:
Look out! there's a hulking great ship behind you
A reminder for the new page...
I have a rough idea, but same when it comes to pinpoint the exact location. -

Look at that piece of shit shard there, just fucking it up like fucking hell.

Even worse from up north...
what ever did happen to those protected sightlines?
-

Time to do some triangulation!
Bing Maps 'bird's eye' better than google for this...
or
Nikolaus Pevsner described the 'ship' as one of the most dramatic features on the horizon -

They stopped being protected adequately and now foul up the prospect of London's best building.

I know some people don't like the shard but at least it's better than the Squirrel that is Guy's Hospital..

You can't fight evil with evil. :)

• #4386
Would I get hated on if I said I quite like the shard??
-
• #4387
bares teeth
-
• #4388
I don't particularly mind it, it will certainly have an effect on London Bridge station and the surrounding area which is a little bit dingey..
-
• #4389
I also like the shard. Although my opinion is based on the architects drawings, I find I have to live with a building for a while before I can really make a decision. Not sure how they will take it if I decide I don't like it after all and tell them to take it down.
Using my skills of triangulation I have deduced that the current tag is south, and for that reason, I'm out.

Got it!
This tag has been driving me mad.
Thanks for the help oat44. -

Bored. So...
Unfortunately I don't have oat44's camera skills so I haven't really done the view justice. At least you can't see the shard. (It's behind Dawson Heights, Overhill road.)
This view is also quite good. Apparently Queen Eliabeth once took a nap here...
(I was going to use this as the next one - like a meta tag (whoa!) - then my batteries failed at the top. Cue going home for a recharge. So I went up twice but didn't really like the picture in the end...)

the rejected tag is brilliant!

Good work spybot, Dawson Hill (near the Horniman)- a hidden gem if you ask me - uninterrupted views all the way round from Battersea Power Station, Westminster, to Canary Wharf.
behind it was Dawson's Heights by architect Kate Macintosh when she was 26, visible in Spy's rejected metatag and this stolen flickr pic:

Old:
I knew the one before but didn't have a chance to tag it. Glad you went somewhere I also knew. One Tree Hill, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honor_Oak near Forest Hill.New:
Not a million miles away but I think this could be a high point for the tagging. -
• #4395
Stop having tags at the top of massive hills!!! Dont you savages know this is a fixed gear and single speed forum.....
That new one is ace BTW. -
• #4396
This is moving well and at last, something I recognise tho I don't actually know the statue. Still south tho so still, no.
-
• #4397
very much looking forward to the tagging ride tomorrow night, should be a balmy old evening
So, with the Ed Miliband rallying-cry, "I'll see some of you there"

The Guardian are currently doing something like that but specifically with books..

awesome, one tree hill is as close as i got to the tag on sunday.
if only i had checked this thread more often i could have used my picture as a lightning fast ninja tag.
I really thought i had this one, but a couple of hours rolling around the locals parks just couldn't get the right location though.
I was pretty close i reckon, but there are so many little private patches and hidden lookouts that it could be.
Got dark so unfortunately i had to come home tagless. Hopefully someone with a little local knowledge can bag it tomorrow.
