The Twentieth Century Society have is listed as sold in the late 1990s and in use as a private college in 2012 (although they are perhaps not the only tenant?). Not sure if there was something in-between. Apparently it is the 'Olympic Park campus' of the institution which must disappoint a few.

I thought this plaque was interesting at the Given Wilson Institute.
Madge Gill in the previous tag returned to East London from Canada at roughly the same time.More history here

Old:
Poplar Town Hall 1870-1938. Now the Lansbury Heritage Hotel, presumably named after George Lansbury who went to prison with 30 fellow-councillors for his part in the Poplar Rates Rebellion of 1921.
