Hoping to go tomorrow

^ Sorry, Matt, I went today.
Old: The former site of the bust of Haile Selassie in Cannizaro Park, just off Wimbledon Common. The bust was recently destroyed by Oromo people protesting against repression in Ethiopia, following the murder of popular singer Haacaaluu Hundeessaa. Thanks to @Settle for broadening everyone's horizons. Excellent tag with a great story. I think we may have fewer taggers in SW London than in all the other quadrants, so perhaps this is why it took so long? Anyway, it does happen at times.
(I should have put the bike behind the circle, sorry. It was already too dark so the picture's artificially brightened.)

The statue was sculpted by Hilda Seligman, while he stayed with her family, and later erected in Cannizaro Park.

New: This one probably has an untamed bro who is its polar opposite.
(Picture again artificially brightened because I'm rubbish at taking pictures in the dark.)

Cheers, it was nice to be in Wombleden again. I hadn't been for ages.

Ah nice one Oliver, yes that's the one. After staying with the Seligman family Selassie then went on to stay in Bath, Somerset. Recently a blue plaque was placed to commemorate his time there. See pic attached.
This guardian article talks further about the unrest in Ethiopia for those with an interest. The Ethiopian embassy have said they are working to replace the statue, I read another article that said that the rasta aren't bothered about taking a pilgrimage to a leafty south west London suburb to pay homage to Selassie as 'they aren't really into all that' but I reckon that's rubbish as I know a lot of people that have visited the site in Wimbledon and Fairfield House in Bath often has events happening and an active community. Glad someone got down there, it's a lovely park!

Well that clears up the Malvern connection.

Thanks, I've replaced the spelling of the murdered singer's name with the spelling from that article, although they're obviously all just imperfect transliterations.
Horrendous events, I hope there won't be full-blown civil war. :(

Went to school in Hereford and Worcester in my teens and one of the area claims to fame were Haile Salassie lived in the area, never believed it but now know it is true.

That was quick. I didn't think anyone would go out this morning, but I guess Beagles are pretty weatherproof. :)
The old tag was the Tamesis Dock, a boat on the Albert Embankment that's a pub and venue.
And yes, give us a clue.

I thought all the skate parks had been done. Narrowing it down might help, Beagle.

Clue works for me. Annoyingly I got within 100m of it yesterday when I thought I would just see if I could find by cycling around. No chance today. Paging Bruce...

I guess this must be a skate park somewhere but Street View isn't getting me there. Clue?
We're going to be back in lockdown before someone is able to get this.
