  • Old: EF Education First's 'International Language Campus' (an old school, basically) on Roupell Street.

EF are of course well known for their sponsorship of EF Pro Cycling, the UCI World Tour team managed by Jonathan Vaughters.

What may be less well known is that one of Vaughters former protegees from the '90s is allegedly an active member of this very forum, occasionally posting bike tags featuring his Cannondale former team bike using a thinly veiled pseudonym.

He apparently left the team after winning too many races for Vaughters' liking (one).

  • New: This 30s detached house with Crittal windows down a quiet lane would happily grace the pages of the Owning your home thread as a 'doer-upper'.

    Water waste.

  • I think @stephens was referring to previous film location tags with the Roupell Street location, as it's been used for filming quite a lot, including episodes of Mr Selfridge, Call the Midwife, Doctor Who and Legend, the Kray Twins biopic.

  • I like the commitment of taking your shirt off to get this photo, and you are correct about my initial intentions.

One more clue for the New?

  • Water is obviously involved somehow and also a Bridge. But I'll stop with the clues before you get Board.

  • Vegetation's gone a bit crazy since the time the streetview pic was taken.

  • I can't get anywhere with this one.

  • Old. Connaught Pl, just off Lea Bridge Rd, near the Water Works

    Connaught Close.

  • I was close, but not Close enough

  • OLD: St Patrick's cemetery, Hollydown Way. Last resting place of Stephen Lewis, star of Don't Drink The Water, an intense and moving drama from the 70s, set towards the end of the Spanish civil war. Lewis is perhaps better known for his role in On The Buses, a passionately political 70s series about the struggles for union recognition in a London depot. Ken Loach has often cited it as an influence.

  • New: yes, it's not dramatic. But if you want to be the new Steven Lewis, this would be a good place to start.
