Makes it more fun for me. Otherwise its just a photo essay of London. And then there would be the ironic retags...

All this waiting is slowing down the tagging.

I think we'd soon run into problems if we were really relaxed about re-tagging. I 'm certain it would make people lose interest if tags that had been done before reappeared all the time, not even the same one, just, say, someone tagging a re-tag and then putting up another re-tag.
In London, we're in the luxurious position that there's so much to tag that we shouldn't run out any time soon.
I think re-tags are fine in certain limited cases, e.g. suppose there's a very significant special event on somewhere. In that case, I think it would be OK to tag that place again even if it has been done before, just for the event, if someone wanted to mark that. But generally, I think tags should be new.
We've only really become more 'relaxed' about tags because of the perception that the map hasn't been up-to-date, many thanks again to Bruce for correcting that. It's certainly not too much effort to ask for to check the map before you leave the house.

When I came back to the forum and this thread, I checked the map. It was only a few tags out of date. Since only a minority of us have ever updated it, there will likely be the odd gap. Still far better than nothing.

A heartfelt thanks to anyone who has updated the map, ever. Chapeau.

Who needs retags when you've got a whole city full of table tennis tables and churches?

Have just found this (on the internet). Really interesting tracking it down - and discovered the artist was responsible for other things I've admired. Sadly I'm in Wales so no tagging for a few days. I'd suggest @youngdonkey gets it as he's definitely in the vicinity - but probably not his priority at this time of night

Well done! Would be interesting to see how you got to it.

Need more clues?
Can't see the wood from the trees?
It's a game where you go out and take a picture of your bike. Lighten up. It doesn't need strict rules. It doesn't make it more fun for anybody.
