I feel like I know this wharf but I'm not certain enough. Any chance of a clue that isn't apparent from the photo?

It's a very easy google, just chuck into google a description of the whopping great thing the bike is propped up against.

Ah, I'm a bit of a grump about clues, I know.

Maryland is one of the few places in the UK whose name comes from the States rather than vice versa. Apparently a rich merchant returned to the UK in the mid 1600's from the American colony Maryland, bought land here, built on it and named it Maryland Point.

I think you'd find something photogenically interesting within 10 minutes (probably less) riding time of the current one - and that's without really looking.
