depends on where you get your spokes from...
you can get 80 spokes from cyclebasket for £21.60 including their crazy £6 delivery charge. so he's charging £20 for the building and effort of buying the spokes, but that is assuming hes not getting them trade.

he's a good guy, haven't ridden his wheels though so cant comment on that.
I've built myself a new rear this weekend using this video here, very satisfying and surprisingly easy to do.

now got it true and round to within 1 or 2 mm, just need a new cog for it and going to get it checked out by somebody to make sure it is tense enough.

they are double butted sapim spokes. black or silver.
