Tourney: WHBPC 2010 Berlin - 13-15.08.2010

I'm over in Madison at the NA's right now. People are just so happy about the Swiss Rounds system that they've adopted. So far I haven't heard a complaint about it.

Also 6 courts and 3 days! (though 1 of them isn't the greatest surface).

any sin binning at the NA's? i think there was only one 30-second penatly given all weekend at the euros (el club vs cosmic)

Yep. I got an email from stefan about it:

Dear poloistas!*

You are the ambassador of your team and only you receive this e- mail, so please forward it to the rest of your team. You registered for the preliminary* tournament on Thursday August 12th to take your last chance to take part in the 2nd Bike Polo-Worlds.*

Official start of the tournament will be Thursday at noon sharp!!!*

We will send the final prelim-tournament time schedule around via email, if your team is not at the courts on time for your games you will have to buy beers for your opponent and the referees in order to arrange a later time to play that game!*

Format will be round robin (the same as the Greifmasters – check LOBP), the best 11 teams proceed to the main tournament next day. Until now only 20 teams registered so you will probably have 6 games each team.

We requested to play pick-up until midnight on tournament days at the city authorities and at least one court will have lights, since its summer there should be daylight till 10 pm anyways.

Please confirm your registration by paying 60 Euros per team until July 25th. If you pay until August 5th its 90 Euros. After that date your spot is gone and there is no way to convince us that you should be part of the worlds. We need your money as soon as possible for the preparation of the tournament so it would be really cool if you could pay asap (it’s also cheaper for you if you pay until July 25th!!)*
