Decades of abuse, this was at the back of the storage space having been butchered by the girlfriend's brother (see original stem). Originally belonged to her grandfather.

Wanted to use a 3ttt quill with wide risers but the stem bolt was fucked. Settled for mtb stem to get it riding again.

Rusty as fuck, all genuine corrosion.

That's a rat bike. Comes from rat look. Think that was a hot-rod, drag race, VW Beetle modding thing.

ratty is a similar term, one that google defines in one sense as in bad condition; shabby or ramshackle.

Nice sarcasm mate ;) I though maybe there is subcategory of ratbikes for those, but I guess no.
