Bit late I know but, regarding the noise of fake discs, the corex ones we used for polo defo make very similar woom woom noises to those I've heard on proper discs.

a mate of mine made one out of cardboard which made the exact same noise as the well posh corima ones

^ what's that black rope on saddle and frame? is it for attaching something?
-
• #10136
It's probably some chain to prevent the seat/seatpost being stolen.
-
• #10137
Loop of bike chain to make stealing saddle harder.
Wrapped in inner tube to stop the chain banging.
Normally only seen on brooks... -

ah, that's quite a good idea. there are some devices on the market for deterring seatpost thieves:
but there are not any i know that have anti-theft qualities for a saddle. so i guess people have to improvise.

yeah that too.
-
• #10142
i am definitely trying that ball thing on my seatpost, usual or magnetic, I mean who would have thought.
-
• #10143
A slip of inner tube over the seatpost clamp works too. Too much hassle for a thief and simultaneously stops any extraneous water or dirt getting down there.

That's nice, how are the wound ups holding up with the rack mounted to them?
