  • All James's?
If you like. I was just aiming for prancing but I suppose we could cull the others too.

  • The chainstay, BB and rear drops are part of a fixed rear triangle... it's just that the triangle is cushioned against the seat tube.

You can make it fixed very easily.

Dan recounted a conversaton he had with you about making them fixed. That's somewhat interesting :-)

he still reckons it's a really bad idea. shrug :D still, makes framesets more interesting if you can...

  • If someone wants to try, as I said last year, I'll happily let them try on one of ours.

  • What's the hub spacing?

  • About this:
    ^___________________________________________________________________^

  • 15cm??

  • And what size monitor would that be best view on?
    Not to mention resolution.

  • Mine. I've no idea what it is.

I'll pull out the vernier calipers later for you.

  • 15cm??

it's about 130mm on the TSR30, but it is steel so +/- a bit :-)

as I put on the thread earlier, the hub on the TSR2 is '116mm Over-Locknut Dimension'

  • Mine. I've no idea what it is.

You have no idea what your size and resolution your monitor is?
I thought you were meant to be some kind of geek.

I know how many rows and columns there are on my bash shell, and that it can display all 256 useful colours.

    I am a geek... I'm not a designer.

  • owned?!?

  • As I post from lynx, yes.

I'd attach a screenshot, but I can't actually post attachments from lynx.

  • TSR2 update - looks like I'll be getting my hands on one in June. Calling BrixC Jim!

  • Probably useless dredging this up for this but...

I saw 2 of these in one day yesterday. One guy riding east on Essex rd and one parked at Clissold Park leisure centre. They are really great looking little bikes. Very tempting! Then not more than 30 mins after seeing these 2 I see an older lady cruising along on a very sweet chrome moulton, with drops and spds. Chatted to her and she said her brother gave it her... how lucky!

I did think that the space frame idea would have a lot of flex or is this just plain wrong?

  • I did think that the space frame idea would have a lot of flex or is this just plain wrong?

plain wrong. stiff as very stiff thing indeed :)

  • Hey alien, what's it like? You haz?

  • Hey alien, what's it like? You haz?

    delayed slightly..

early next month I might have the demo bike. It's already proving rather popular :-)

  • and (finally!) happy to announce:

    http://www.moultonbicycles.co.uk/models/TSR2.html

    • Chain or Belt drive

    • Belt drive model uses a Delta 11mm belt - 67 tooth chainring and 25 tooth sprocket, that gives you 50.6 and 69.9 inches.

    • Chain drive uses a 44 tooth chainring and 17 tooth sprocket, giving gears of about 48.9 inches and 67.5 inches.

There's a bunch of pre-orders to be dealt with, but I hope for a demo one soon.. ^ ^

  • Dropout enjoying the TSR2 at Pret a Rouler :)

  • Any more thoughts on whether you could run one of these fixed...?

  • ^ This would be perfect for running fixed wheel - dropout spacing sounds like it would be spot on.

I've previously run my AM2 as fixed (not very clear picture: http://www.lfgss.com/post497937-269.html) but don't at the moment because the flange on my rare-as-hens-teeth 110mm-spaced HF campag hub cracked.

  • Rode one from the LBS (bikefix, it's on their windows).

It's splendid to ride, take a while to get used to the S2C hubs (especially when slowing down on 1st gear put you to 2nd gear) and it stupidly powerful (need to be bedded in), but brilliant nonetheless.

  • Any more thoughts on whether you could run one of these fixed...?

    There are moulton with fixed wheel transmission, even raced at velodome, obviously this isn't the TSR but it's running a fixed wheel transmission (not recommended though, something to do with the flywheel effect of the smaller wheel);

  • I really want one of these sooo much but can't really justify it. Would buy it with the duomatic (saw the original on a classic bike last year and thought it was an amazing concept) and get another wheel built up with fixed.

    not recommended though, something to do with the flywheel effect of the smaller wheel);

That sort of explains it - a smaller wheel could be rotating twice as fast as a 700c, but it'd have much less mass (and that mass wouldn't be as far from the axle). Wouldn't the two just cancel each other out...?
